The Alliance for Multispecialty Research, LLC (AMR) performs phase I, II, III, and IV clinical research trials to support pharmaceutical companies in the development of new drugs, devices, and vaccines. AMR includes 15 locations and 2 affiliated member centers across the continental United States, 126 investigators, over 7,749 previous clinical trials, and access to databases of over 657,344 patients.

Dr. John Ervin began conducting clinical trials in 1986 simply to provide his patients with new treatment options. What started as a doctor's dream to offer cutting-edge treatments his patients has grown into a large, full-service clinical research site with specialist physicians in nearly all therapeutic areas.
Since that time, The Center for Pharmaceutical Research has conducted over 750 clinical trials in all areas of multispecialty research. Our focus is improving health care options for our volunteers and their families.

At The Center for Pharmaceutical Research, volunteers are treated as honored guests. When surveyed, 95% percent of our volunteers are happy with their experience and over 90% want to be in another clinical trial. As one who has no medical insurance, it was a good way to have my health monitored for two years while contributing to the program.
Before a pharmaceutical drug can be approved by the FDA for use in the United States, it must go through several phases of testing, called clinical trials. During the clinical trial process, the potential drug is tested for safety and effectiveness. Volunteers are followed very closely by the doctor running the trial, called the Principal Investigator.
The Center for Pharmaceutical Research has been located on the St. Joseph Medical Center campus since 1986. Many of our board-certified investigators are on campus and have long-term relationships with Dr. Ervin. In addition, each of our investigators regularly receives ICH/GCP training.
Dr. Ervin founded The Center for Pharmaceutical Research in 1986 and currently serves as the President / General Manager, Medical Director, and Principal Investigator for the majority of our clinical trials.Dr. Henry Kanarek has served as a sub-investigator at The Center for Pharmaceutical Research since 2010.

Being Part of the Science
The Center for Pharmaceutical Research preforms clinical testing of drugs to support their approval by Food and Drug Administration. The testing follows standard clinical testing procedures using the target drug and placebos. You are notified what stage in the approval process that the drug is in.
Having COPD and being a multi decade smoker, I volunteered for a smoking cessation trial that include blind assignment of either the target drug, placebo, or combinations of the two.
As part of the study I was given a prescreening physical evaluation that is updated throughout

The medical staff is great!!!
The business office is irresponsible and have no idea what the are doing.
The prepaid cards are visa prepaid cards and my card expired before I used the money and I had to call call call and call, it is still an issue. The Visa card people are hard to work with and give you the RUNAROUND!!! My card number was used by someone in Indiana, how did that happen I only used it at price chopper in Lee's summit.
If you want paid examine the card for expiration dates and track your balance, or just don't be in their studies. Go to PRA.
