Services
Born and raised in Honolulu, Dr. Blane K. Chong has been practicing family and sports medicine since 1991. Having worked as a paramedic while completing medical school, his life's work has been dedicated to helping and healing his community even before beginning his journey as a physician. Believing that preventative care is key for optimal health, Dr. Chong empowers patients by providing resources and examples for healthy living.
Having participated in a variety of sports from a young age, Dr. Chong's passion for setting and exceeding physical goals started early in life. After discovering his love of powerlifting, he began entering and winning various competitions throughout the state. As an athlete, Dr. Chong's goal has always been to better himself by maximizing his performance.

I have been a patient of Dr. Chong's for over 20 years, he and his staff are nothing but professional, warm and welcoming.
Being an extreme athlete I have suffered many injuries throughout the years, in-fact I have had arthroscopic knee surgery on my right knee and a disk removed in my neck due to overuse. Been seeing Dr Blane Chong for a few years now. Has always diagnosed and fixed my injuries everytime. If you call the office they leave you detailed dates and times they are open so he isn't a walk in Dr you should go to urgent care if you need immediate help. But he is worth the wait if you want a doctor that has a lot of experience with sports injuries I went to Straub ER paid 500.00 to sit in a hall. Then ultrasound the next day that showed nothing. Went to Dr Blane 3 days later got PRP treatment and was up and moving the next day. Ill take him over anyone that has openings all day. If

I was trying to get into this doctor for about 6 months. I have chronic pain and needed recommendations for Physical Therapy. They requested that I send my entire medical record over to them before they would take me which was new. I've lived in several states and I haven't had that experience. Once they received the records I was told for weeks they were reviewing it. I would call once or twice a week for about a month. They would tell me that doctor would respond and they'd call me back. Dr Chong is a good primary care doctor for you standard preventative care visits... you annual physicals and referrals and labs. He really does have good bedside manner in spite of what other reviewers may have said. I typically get morning appointments at 8:30 am, which appears to be the earliest appointment slot (not really 8am like the hours say). Just be sure to work around his schedule because he has limited office hours.

Awful experience with this Doctor. He didn't seem to care about my husband as a patient. Just wanted us to get in and get out. He didn't want my husband as a patient and said so to our faces. When we asked why - he got up and actually showed us to the door. We left feeling he discriminated against us as we weren't Asian. We filed a complaint against him with Hawaii's Department of Commerce and Consumer Affairs

I was delighted to receive a quick first appointment and had hoped Dr. Chong would be a decent primary care doctor. He treated me like garbage, presumably because of bipolar 1 and PTSD diagnoses. I brought my wife to help with my credibility having had issues with medical professionals owing to prejudice against patients with mental health issues. When I got to the Q & A about my conditions my diabetes 2 in remission came up. I told him I'd gotten the diagnosis in 2008. Good guy, good doctor! I like and respect him. Really nice office staff! I have seen him several times for various reasons. Spends time to listen and really good at explaining. Practices what he preaches and follows his own healthy advice. I like that he gives back as a coach in addition to being a doctor. I recommend Dr. Chong!
