Chiropractic Neurology is the new model of healthcare. We offer extensive diagnostic strategies and customized neurological rehabilitation to help and support a wide variety of neurological disorders. We combine chiropractic care, functional neurology, specific brain based therapies, and nutrition in an effort to rehabilitate a wide range of neurological and musculoskeletal conditions.
Chronic pain is an ongoing pain that extends beyond the expected period of healing. This is typically after 3 to 6 months from the onset of the injured tissue in the body that did not heal correctly. As muscles near the injury tighten up to protect the area, they can also fire up trigger points that can refer the pain to other areas.
Movement Disorders are a type of neurological disorder that results in abnormal or involuntary movement, or slowed movement. These are generally classified as hypo-kinetic and hyperkinetic disorders, with many subclassifications. These can be caused by genetic disorders, previous musculoskeletal injury, nerve injury, pathology or medications.
Balance is one of the most significant indicators of overall brain health. There are areas in nearly every part of the brain that help us maintain balance and interact with our environment. Balance occurs when our spine, surrounding muscles and brain are effectively signaling back and forth. If this doesn't occur due to some error in these systems, then balance and equilibrium will be affected, causing balance disorders.
Doctors often tell their patients, "Once you have a stroke, chances are your life will never be the same again." That can be devastating news for the patient and their family. Rehabilitation after a significant injury to the brain, like that caused from a stroke, is extremely important. Many therapies leave patients with only minimal recovery and they're left on their own to deal with their daily tasks.

I started seeing Dr VanWinkle last year when I noticed a numbness is both my wrists that extended down to my hands. It was keeping me up at night and I didn't know what was going on. Dr VW was very helpful and professional in addressing my concerns and issues that arose as care went on. He helped me "put my head on straight" through multiple in-office and at-home exercises. They helped me at a seriously scary and low time in my life that just started out of the blue. So many other specialist were wanting to push pills or say that it was going to be something permanent. We spent a few months together working and then I was back to normal. I don't think I could have met better people for that time in my life.

Dr. Van Winkle and Dr. Perez are amazing people who do amazing work. They were the answer I didn't know I needed for my son. Our son has POTS and I did endless amounts of research trying to find a doctor who would be able to help him with his symptoms and condition as a whole.
