Despite it being a little chilly and some gill net fishermen's nets blocking our access further upriver, we had a wonderful tour last night with Captain Bruce. So much great information, up close looks at the cargo ships and sea lions, time on the river and a beautiful sunset. Would definitely recommend.

Captain Bruce was an awesome guide. It was a windy day with intermittent showers, but we thoroughly enjoyed the tour. We saw seals, including a huge male, several beautiful eagles along with a nest, and many harbor seals. We also saw blue herons and cormorants. He told us stories about local history and colorful characters, and took us through the estuary into the John Day River. Amazing day!

It was a beautiful evening tour. Capt Bruce points out historical points along the way and shares intersting stories. It's nice to see Astoria from the river and then travel through tucked away areas you can't get to by car.
