Maine Idyll Motor Court
This is a great place and good location for quick drives to Popham Beach, Booth Bay Harbor, Pemaquid Lighthouse and others! I'm 50 years old and have been coming here since I was 4. I've got a million memories and the owners and staff have always been gracious and thoughtful. We look forward to welcoming you back, especially if you had to miss a visit in 2020!

If you haven't been with us before, come try a cabin in Maine- you just might find it a refreshing "change of pace and space"!
Services
The Maine Idyll has been owned and operated by the Marstaller family since it was established in the 1930's. All the cottages have been extensively updated while retaining much of the ambiance of an era that was simpler and more leisurely paced. We take pride in our clean, comfortable cottages, friendly service, pretty surroundings, and excellent value.
Our cottage rental rates are listed under the respective cottage listing. All cottages at the Maine Idyll have refrigerators, microwaves, electric or propane heat, a 32 HDTV with satellite feed, and wireless Internet access. Most cottages have AC, all have portable fans. Well-behaved pets are $8 per night for each pet.
You'll notice several picnic tables and gas/charcoal grills scattered around the campground. Enjoy a delicious grilled lunch or an Summer evening BBQ with the family. We have high-speed wifi available at our front office and surrounding areas. Bring your laptop, enjoy a quick breakfast on us and answer your emails before you take on the day with adventures!

I loved this place! Having my own private, cozy cabin with a fireplace was great. The cabins are fully equipped with everything you'd need to live there if you wanted. Best of all, the price was phenomenal! My only slight complaint is that you're paralleled by 2 busy roads, so you'll hear plenty of traffic.

This is a cute little cottage. Didn't see the AC window unit behind the curtain so went out and bought a box fan for cool evening air. Thurs we'll take it home with us (the fan, not the AC).

Nice comfortable cozy cabin! Kitchenette with essentials, microwave, burner, TV, A/C, heater, and fan...covered all the bases at a fair reasonable price and the owner was super nice and welcoming. Dogs welcome is a plus!!

Adorable and woodsy cabin, charming but not corny, and private/quiet. The owner is so nice and brought us firewood. The property feels like summer camp while the cabin feels like your classic Maine daydream. Within 2 minutes my boyfriend said “we will have to come back sometime.”

Great vibes here !
Love their sign lighting up the late night forest road, a welcome sight.
The attendant was super nice, the price was affordable for the area, the styling and color of the inside of the cabin was comforting and cool, and outside of our cabin (#18) was unique & quirky. Shower was warm, bed was comfy !!
Only negatives: can hear highway noises a bit but still feels nice despite that, WiFi didn’t reach out to our cabin but no worries :)
Would def recommend !

This charming group of summer cabins is only a few miles out of Freeport. Our room had almost everything we needed, missing only coffee cups for the in room coffee. It was exactly what you imagine a summer cabin would be: wide plank pine floors, pine plank walls (some painted pale blue) and ceiling (painted white), a cozy little bathroom with stall shower, heater for cool evenings, refrigerator, coffee maker, TV, double bed, small table with two chairs and an occasional chair. The firewood and fireplace is a nice addition. The room was clean and the bed was comfy.

We really enjoyed our stay. I was running in a local race and this cabin provided a nice retreat. The owners/caretakers were very nice and accommodating, our cabin was just as described and we could not have been happier. The location is great, just a short drive in either direction to local shops and restaurants.

Liked this place. Dry clean cabins. Ours had a working fireplace and they left wood, but we did not have a chance to use it. Inside was cute and although a cabin, had a tv for those who desired. Bit of noise from 295 to the rear, but not serious. Will repeat.

The Maine Idyll features a charming set of cabins at an affordable price near Freeport/Portland. When I say charming, I do not mean modern, state of the art, polished, manicured. I mean old fashioned, but serviceable. Located just down the road from downtown Freeport, you feel like you are in the woods glamping, with cabins featuring different amounts of beds, kitchens, etc. We like to stay at the Idyll in the summer when rates in Portland are astronomical.

Pulled into this place hoping it was pet friendly. To our surprise it was and we were very happy with the accommodations. The room was clean, they leave you a bunch of firewood to burn in the fireplace. Which is awesome this time of year.
We look forward to staying again sometime soon.
Thanks for the great place.

What a delight! My family had an absolute blast staying in a little cottage. I would have hands down gave 5 stars but there were a few things that need improvement. Housekeeping first off is not up to par. The blankets were literally thown on the beds, they did not replenish the cups, coffee filters, or soap. We still tipped everyday, because we believe in karma Then there was the uninvited ant guests on the kitchenette counter! Other than that we'll kindly go back.

This motor court is not a typical motel but cute charming wooden cottages. i was looking for a place for the night to stay and i cannot believe to find this inexpensive place compared to other hotels/motels in the area. the cottages have even fireplace, kitchen, refrigerator, cable, etc. i was very pleased. breakfast was great (orange juice, homemade scones, muffins, cookies, etc.). really unbelievable for the price you pay. i didnt care if they donot accept credit cards. i will surely come back again.
