For many people, the tendency in the mind for negativity and suffering is strong while the tendency for peace and happiness is weak. Through training in the techniques taught by Buddha, this situation can be reversed. By developing a regular practice of meditation and mindfulness, the mind can be brought under control so that it functions to make us happy instead of suffering.

Phenomenal meditation center. The people who run Kadampa Meditation Center New Mexico are so lovely, friendly and genuinly using meditation to change their own lives and help others. I attended the Southwest Dharma Celebration this weekend and the meditation guidance and practical advice for living a happy life were unbelievably helpful. The main teacher is so friendly and approachable, and the community welcoming and respectful. The building itself is a very beautiful place with modern Buddhist paintings and exquisite guilded statues as the central focus inside the meditation room. The tea room
