Based in Montgomery County, Agriculture Partners LLC currently offers independent soil testing using Smart Sampling. For Jenner Precision and Ag Leader, Ag Partners will offer sales and service to producers in Sangamon, Christian, Montgomery, Bond, Fayette and Effingham counties.

We studied soil samples and yield data to examine if there was a correlation. Results showed soil fertility as expressed by soil sample results and yield to correlate poorly. Considering the poor correlation, we examined the sample locations. The study showed 16 of the 30 samples collected were in areas that we considered "transition areas" between one soil type and another.
The CEC(Cation Exchange Capacity) of the soil is the ability of soil to absorb and exchange cations such as Ca, Mg, Mn, Fe, Cu, Zn, NH4+, H, Na, or K. When sampling fields we found that having the CEC will be the most helpful when defining our zones of moisture/ soil types. The reason we want the OM of your soil is important in helping us create a more efficient and sustainable farming practice.
The Veris Soil EC is pulled through a field and takes measurement of how much electricity is conducted within the soil. This is an effective way to map soil texture (CEC); small particles such as clay will conduct more than larger particles such a silt or sand. The Veris OpticMapper is a sensor that detects the levels of organic matter as you go through the field.
SmartSamplingTM reduces random results by increasing correlation between yield & soil fertility levels allowing for better management.
