Worm bin composting produces odor-free compost for only a little investment and a whole lot of kid-fun! It is not only a convenient way to keep organic waste (veggie scraps, eggshells, etc.) out of the landfill and return it to the garden, but it gives worms "free eats" to break materials down into nutrient-rich soil to grow more veggies in the garden.
Fruit trees need pruning for two primary purposes: to provide structure and to allow light channels throughout the tree so that fruit can mature properly. Skagit Valley Master Gardener Claudia Wells shares pruning techniques that will instill confidence in new home gardeners to do it themselves as well as dive into the science and art of pruning fruit trees.

Christianson's probably doesn't need any additional glowing reviews, but I'm leaving one anyway! We got married here in September 2021, and they made our day a fairytale. The beauty and flexibility of the grounds are unmatched, and they were always quick to respond when I sent my nervous bride questions in the months leading up to our big day. We ended up with the wedding of our dreams, and this venue was a big part of that. My parents even bought us some potted flower arrangements as a wedding gift, which the lovely staff put together on the day for us. A dream come true, thank you!

This is by far the nicest garden-nursery in the Northwest. Just visiting and spending time in the surrounding gardens and greenhouses is wonderful, and before you know it, you have a cart full of plants picked out to take home. Excellent quality of products, fun place for kids to carefully explore and learn about plants and trees. Great value, worth the trip to Skagit Valley.

Lovely place to stroll through the outdoor gardens, as well as all of the indoor areas ostensibly categorized by type of plant (eg. succulents, low-light houseplants, “unusual plants,” etc.), with little tchotchkes to adorn one’s garden peppered throughout the gift shop areas. I got some very interesting, unique books here (I was resigned to the fact that my house at the time was un-gardenable, but I still wanted to see some great plants!). Truly a magical place.

These tulips field is just across of Christianson's Nursery, the best nursery in Skagit county. It has a mini-zoo where you can see a shy llama and other livestock. They sell quick bites food and their coffee is a must-try experience including their sumptuous pastries. A must visit place every spring and summer. Highly recommend their business, friendly owner and staff.

Lots to explore. Indoor, outdoor, tropical plants! Gifts! I am grateful for as safe place to shop for plants during covid. Clean restrooms, and hand washing stations. The succulent greenhouse is so satisfying, especially in winter. The doves in there are happy and spoiled. ❤️ The plants are happy too!

Our favorite nursery! Our veggie / herb starters ranged $4-$5 each. Have wagons available. Beautiful enough grounds worth just bringing a coffee and hanging out. The schoolhouse built in 1888 was an amazing treat too. Have an antique store and general gardening goods on top of the MASSIVE selection. Caring staff, we were greeted with smiling eyes (all you can see over the face masks lol) and cheerful helpfulness wherever we went! A true 💎 gem
