The natural lenses of our eyes focus our sight and are normally clear. A cataract is a condition that causes a clouding of the eye's natural lens often leading to blurred vision. Cataracts cause a progressive, painless loss of vision. In most cases, the exact cause of cataracts is not known. Most experts agree that cataracts are a normal and expected consequence of the natural aging process.
Here at Siedlecki Cataract & Vision Care, we specialize in LASIK eye surgery for patients in North Tonawanda, Amherst, Orchard Park, Cheektowaga, West Seneca and the surrounding Buffalo areas. LASIK eye surgery offers numerous benefits and can dramatically improve your quality of life. Most of our patients will have 20/20 vision (or even better) after the surgery, but results do vary.
An intraocular lens (IOL) is an artificial lens that is placed in the eye after a cataract is removed during cataract surgery. These lenses replace the eye's natural lens and remain in the eye permanently. These lenses are classified as Monofocal or Premium.
Monofocal lens implants have a single zone of focus, and usually provide great distance vision, but require that patients wear glasses to see clearly, particularly for up close and intermediate vision.Premium lenses provide enhanced vision over monofocal lenses and little or no dependence on glasses or contact lenses.

Blepharoplasty can eliminate puffy, sagging or tired-looking eyes by removing excess fat, skin, and muscle from the upper and lower eyelids. It may be performed for cosmetic reasons or more commonly to improve sight by lifting droopy eyelids out of the patient's field of vision, in which case the procedure is covered by most insurances.
