Oldham County Child Support
As Oldham County Attorney, I am proud to present this new website for the residents of our county. The Office of the Oldham County Attorney touches the lives of virtually every citizen of Oldham County. My office is responsible for prosecuting thousands of criminal cases each year in district court, including DUIs, assaults, bad checks, thefts, juvenile crime, and many other statutory offenses.

Under Kentucky law, the county attorney's office is also responsible for serving as legal advisor to Oldham Fiscal Court, establishing paternity and collecting court-ordered child support, representing the Commonwealth in juvenile dependency, neglect and abuse cases, and assisting families with disability guardianship and involuntary mental health treatment for loved ones.
Services
John Carter's legal experience spans more than four decades of varied public service and private practice. From 1990 to 2011, John engaged in private legal practice in Jefferson and Oldham County specializing in criminal, civil and family court litigation. During this time he maintained the highest Martindale-Hubbell rating by his peers.
Julie has served Oldham County as office administrator of the county attorney's office since 1988. During her tenure she has worked faithfully for three Oldham County attorneys, Jim Pike, John Fendley and now John Carter. Among Julie's many responsibilities, she is responsible for office management, criminal complaint intake, criminal court case management and victim advocacy in District Court.
Tracy joined the Oldham County Child Support Division in 2007, before which she worked as a deputy Oldham Circuit Court Clerk. Tracy's primary responsibilities include criminal enforcement of child support orders in Oldham District and Circuit court. As court liaison for the county attorney's office, she works diligently with custodial and non custodial parents to ensure payment on behalf of dependent children.
One of the major responsibilities of the Oldham County Attorney's Office is to prosecute all adult misdemeanors and violations that occur in Oldham County. These crimes can include DUIs, traffic violations, assaults, thefts and non-payment of child support. The Oldham County Attorney's Office prosecutes these cases to their conclusion, and is responsible for prosecuting all felony cases through the preliminary hearing stage.
The Oldham County Attorney's Office offers an optional diversion program for individuals charged with certain pre-payable traffic violations. The program is authorized by KRS 186.574(6) and it lets participants have their traffic citations dismissed without the citation showing up on their driving record or having points added to their driver's license.
