Dr. Korman performs the Roux-en-Y gastric bypass (RYGB) as a minimally invasive laparoscopic surgery. The gastric bypass has been in existence for over 40 years and is regarded as a more aggressive weight-loss procedure. The stomach is reduced to the size of an egg by being divided into two unequal parts.
Approved by the FDA in 2011, the Lap-Band is an adjustable band that is placed around the stomach during a laparoscopic procedure. Since the band shrinks the circumference of the stomach opening where food passes through, it causes the patient to feel more full quicker while consuming less food and to also feel satiated for a longer period of time.
Smart Lipo is the ideal complement for a patient who has lost weight after bariatric surgery, is close to their target weight, and has above average skin elasticity. This is important because the skin needs to be able to tighten over the targeted area where the Smart Lipo is used. Smart Lipo is a solution to removing "stubborn fat" that remains even with diet and exercise.
Before and after a patient undergoes a weight loss procedure at the Marina Weight Loss Center, they work with a registered dietitian to develop customized, healthy meal plans that provide proper nutrition and promote weight loss, Working with the dietitian also helps patients some of the emotional challenges they face with food.

Dr. Korman and his staff "A TEAM" provided me STELLAR type of service. I HIGHLY recommend Dr. Jeremy E. Korman for any procedure. I had minimal down time. No pain medication needed AT ALL, after the procedure. His bedside manners remained in tact , even during COVID 19. He maintained integrity, confidence, reassurance and professionalism that is second to none. Dr.Kormen was excellent surgery went very well and my weight still keeps dropping as of October 2017 staff treated me very well. Dr. Korman has to be one of the best doctors in his field, aside from owning a fabulous beside manner. He's amazing. Treats everyone so kindly, friendly and puts all at ease. Takes the time to speak with his patients, and makes you feel as if your a personal friend rather than a patient. Aside from all of this, he's brilliant. His staff at the hospital is also amazing, specifically three people, nurses, Kyle and Briana, and the anesthesiologist, Dr. Houston. I couldn't have made it through my day without them. So glad the hospital is now part of the Cedar Sinai group.

Had lap band put in years ago thru Dr. Jeremy. He is definitively a sales man. He will promise u the moon if it meant being allowed to bill ur insurance for an expensive procedure or procedures. During the pre op program he failed to inform me that I would suffer from irritation to my throat due to the tightening of the band making it easy for me to get food stuck in my throat to the point I had to throw up to find relief. Oh and continuous ear infections due to the pressure caused during severe throwing up episodes. I was literally living on anti acids and antibiotics that further depleted my

Dr. Korman is an amazing surgeon who not only has great bedside manner but also cares deeply about his patients and their success. Dr. Korman gets just as excited about your journey as you do and is there all along the way. I love Dr. Korman and his staff. On my first meeting with him, I felt completely at ease. He was so easy to talk to, not judgmental in the least, open and attentive. His staff is great too and bent over backwards to help me with all my questions, particularly insurance. I can't say enough about them, I highly recommend them. If you are considering weight loss surgery, this is the place! I had the sleeve done and in 3 months am down 42 pounds, Overjoyed at my results!

Two months ago, Dr. Jermey Korman performed a lap-band surgery for me. He is a very nice doctor and all of his staff are very helpful. After the surgery, I had some complication which is very common on those type of surgery. I was calling morning and night on the cell phone of Bridgette the registered nurse. she always answered her phone any time and gave good advises nicely and friendly. I love this office and staff . Dr. Korman is the best in his field, and I highly recommend him. So far, I lost 30 pounds in 2 months
