Please read Pre Waxing Tips for some general information that you should know before waxing. So, you've heard about brazilian waxing and have decided to take the plunge! What can you expect from your first waxing? Where did it come from? Brazilian waxing first came to the United States via New York and was brought here by seven Brazilian born sisters.
A lot of men worry about body hair, be it their back, chest, stomach, arms or legs. Unwanted hair can also be so sprouting from a man's ears or nose and even if YOU can't see it, I assure you people that come into contact with you can. Here at Skin Trade I can help you get rid of all of that pesky hair with no problem at all.
Do not shave the area being waxed for at least 14 to 21 days before you wax. Hair can be 1/4 inch long but I prefer 1/2 inch long for your first waxing. If you are going to trim your hair, don't trim it too short. The waxing will hurt more and not be as effective as when the hair is longer and the root can be grabbed.
Although the discomfort associated with waxing subsides as soon as the waxing is over, the area can remain sensitive and can feel like a sunburn. Wait 24 hours before engaging in activities that cause you to sweat or create friction in the area that was waxed such as physical exercise, tanning booths, and the sun.

Since moving to California, I’ve been struggling to find the right place and the right person for getting my waxing done. I finally found Skin Trade and it is perfect—a lovely location and Barbara is a lovely person. She was completely professional and did a great job. I’m definitely going back.

Barbara is fantastic. She was extremely considerate and helpful with managing part of my skin that has a nerve disorder. She selected waxes that irritated that area the least (mostly avoiding double-waxing the same area.) I also think that my hair stayed gone longer. I moved to downtown San Diego and tried several estheticians around here that were highly rated on yelp. None of them were as good as Skin Trade. So now I'm going to make the 45m commute up to get my Brazilian wax.

Barbara is Fantastic. She's very professional, friendly, and informative! Don't hesitate to ask her skin care questions because she knows her stuff! (She was an RN for many years).
As a man with a lot of body hair, one would expect to be in a lot of pain when getting a brazilian wax. Yes, It hurts a bit but that's expected with waxing.
Barbara has calming music on, and talks to you and is very methodical and efficient. She really does try her absolute best every time! Not a hair in sight!
And remember guys, every time you get waxed it hurts less and less. So if you're curious

Barbara is amazing! I found Barbara in 2016 for brazilian wax. I'm so grateful to have found her! She's quick, efficient, professional and makes the process as painless and easy as possible. It's rare that I get ingrown hairs and she always makes sure that I'm happy with the results. She's friendly, considerate and professional. I've been to a few different local spas and wax boutiques in the area and haven't been happy with the level of service. Barbara is all around the best esthetician I've had for waxing. Love her!

The WORST waxing experience of my life!!!! I have been waxing for 15+ years and never have I ever had such a painful experience. To top it off she BURNED my FACE with her wax and I now have two large burns. I am terrified it is going to scar. She tried to blame it on a reaction I had but I know it was because she used the green hard wax FOLLOWED by strip wax. Who's skin could tolerate that? I've never had a reaction to waxing! So painful, so unnecessary and all three places she waxed are still raw and red three days later. I've never had this type of reaction in my life. Nice sweet

I instantly felt relaxed when I first met her, and have been a regular client since my first visit. Conveniently located off the 101 in Leucadia, and very reasonably priced, there is no other choice for me!

The visit to Skintrade was pleasant. It was my first time waxing experience. Barbara was very easy going and professional. She talked with me through the whole process, which made me feel a bit more at ease. She provided me with needed information both before and after waxing. I love the location and her place. MUST READ! I went to see Barbara for a brazilian wax a few weeks ago. I hate to say it, but it was the most painful experience I have had doing this type of waxing procedure. I have been doing Brazilian waxes for over 2 years and thought I would try Barbara since she was an RN and her website looked enticing.
