Philip Pio, Sr. started Philip Pio Construction, Inc. in 1965. His work initially consisted of installing water and sewer pipes in the streets of Philadelphia for the Philadelphia Water Department. The work that Pio Construction performed was a great source of pride for the family. In 1970, Philip Pio, Jr. joined his father, and the two worked side by side for many years.
