Services
Yellowhawk provides high-quality, primary healthcare for the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation (CTUIR) and other American Indians and Alaska Natives in Oregon's Umatilla and Union counties. Owned and governed by the CTUIR, Yellowhawk has provided its community members with health-related programs since 1996.
The Executive Management Team provides strategic leadership and management to the organization, overseeing programs and services. After developing strategy with the CTUIR Tribal Health Commission, they execute strategic initiatives and annual objectives and continually strive for quality improvement.
The CTUIR Tribal Health Commission, Yellowhawk's governing body, is comprised of local tribal members as well as one CTUIR Board of Trustees representative. The Health Commission creates policies (subject to the Board of Trustees' approval) and works closely with the Executive Management Team to develop strategy at the beginning of each year for Yellowhawk's success.
In 1855 the United States Government and the heads of the Walla Walla, Cayuse and Umatilla tribes signed a legally binding contract that never expires. In the treaty, the tribes gave the United States more than 6.4 million acres in what is now northeastern Oregon and southeastern Washington. In exchange, the tribes were promised many things, including ongoing healthcare for their people.
Yellowhawk Tribal Health Center offers after hours nursing telephone advice answered by AMBS. Eligible patients can obtain medical advice via telephone from a live person when Yellowhawk is closed. The service is offered from 5 p.m. to 7 a.m., weekends and holidays. If you are a patient or are looking to become a patient, please call us at (541) 966-9830 so that we may assist you.
