Starting in the home entertainment business in 1973. Tom & Marilyn worked for Playback. In 1981 they opened their first store, The Listening Room. Recently they moved to Saginaw's Old Towne and opened their new store. With their love for music, and appreciation for high quality sound reproduction, their focus is on providing the best sounding audio for any home entertainment system, plus the best video picture available by today's standards.

The Twilite Drive-In mural was created by The LISTENING ROOM and displayed at our former location at 5801 State St. The mural was painted showing the drive in main screen as it had been as the back ground, and then added the original renovated neon sign. The sign had been obtained from Thomas Mudd (local historian) who had painstakingly stored it until he found a "good owner" for it.
These premium headphones use unique, Japanese-made FreeEdge drivers, which deliver a precise pistonic motion for ultra-accurate sound with minimal distortion. The beautiful walnut ear cups enhance the sound experience further. The Listening Room stocks a number of Grado headphones and can order any Grado products at your request.
The MMF-5.3 Special Edition turntable is a 2-speed belt driven audiophile employing unique dual-plinth construction. Comes complete with an Orophon 2M Bronze cartridge. The stunning MMF-1.5 with its superior S-shaped alloy tonearm, Music Hall Melody cartridge, 3-speed belt drive design, and built-in phono pre-amp is a beautifully refined piece.

Audiophiles of Saginaw: You must check these folks out! I bought my first "real" turntable here that wasn't going to damage my record collection. The Listening Room continues to be my local go-to to add to my collection. The owners are passionate about sound with a lifetime of music expertise, and decades of understanding the business history of where the trend has come today. Vintage audio equipment, state of the art modern equipment? They have the know and have lived it! You may even get lucky to pop in with some of their personal classics playing. Right in the heart of old Town Saginaw ....
