The Title Plant consists of tract books into the early 1900's, index cards through 1997, and computerized to the present time. In addition, Wise County Title Company is consistently making information prior to 1998 available by computer generated searches. Our title plant contains indexing information for all documents found of record in the Wise County Clerk's office and Wise County District Clerk's office.
The deed most commonly used today, and the one much preferred by title companies, is the general warranty deed. By the use of appropriate language in the deed, a covenant of warranty is created. This covenant is said to be the broadest and most effective covenant. In effect, it is a contract with reference to the title, under which the grantor or covenanter agrees to pay damages if the title fails.
