Unimpressed by the customer services. Supposed management yells at customers from across the registers to minimize any effort to interact with the customer. Store is lacking quality produce, shelves are particularly empty, and is very disheveled/dirty. Cleanliness is not a priority at this Particular Piggly Wiggly. They might have a decent wine selection but that is all they have going for them. I do not recommend this store in Apalachicola. Drive 20 miles either way to stores in Carabelle or St Joe. You have to go to Tallahassee for quality groceries. It's worth the drive. I would

We were impressed with how much this little grocery store had. My wife even found Potato Starch which hasn't been easy to find while we've been in the panhandle. Great little store. Had gas too.

It's a larger version of the one on St. George. It has a larger selection of items, including more animal food and lots of fresh food.
The staff is very nice and I was satisfied with the collection.
If this is your first Piggly Wiggly, it's kinda like a mix of Publix, Whole Foods, and Winn-Dixie. It has a larger variety of items than Publix, but fewer of each item. Similarly, it has a lot of organic foods, but then it also has staples like Reeses Cereal.

For a small store it packs a lot of good stuff! Excellent steamed shrimp, meats, deli.........just about anything you're looking for! Like magic...pulling a rabbit (or a pig) out of the hat every time! And they're always open (very convenient hours), friendly and ready to serve! <3

Small, but clean and friendly! Perfect for picking up lunch or snacks, not a huge grocery selection but you can get enough for dinner! Attached gas station!

You gotta love the local name for it... The Pig. Nice store with everything you could ask for. Very nice deli area with a hot plate counter for a quick lunch breakfast. We have eaten here many times while standing outside during the seafood festival parade. Perfect type of grocery store for a small town.

This PW functioned as our main food-shopping place during a stay on St. George Island. Keep mind in mind, it's not on the island, but near enough to make a we-need-food run, and not lose too much of the day. In forgotten-coast terms, it's a "big" grocery. If you're from a big city, it may not seem so big, but you'll find a decent selection of good stuff. Among the pros is a gluten-free section, where Therese H. could find GF pasta, and even GF flours if more serious cooking or baking were contemplated. Currently, the deli gives you an order form to fill out, and they

Small country feel grocery store. Had limited selection because of the size. Meat selection seemed good. Stockers on three rows with boxes blocking path. Overall a nice local store with friendly cashiers.

Nice store. Had what I needed. But they have a racket going on at this store. I bought groceries and the cashier rang up a bag of chips in my cart and then stuck them under her counter. When I finished paying, I asked her about the chips and she pulled them out under her counter and said they had a hole in them. They did not have a hole in them. She played it off and told me I could get another one. At no time after she rang them in or before I asked did she tell me that the bag she had just charged me for had a hole in it. I confronted her, and she said she told me. Both of my sons were with me

I love this Piggly Wiggly. They have everything I need and they are close by. If you are a face blanket facist you shouldn't shop here, because the Pig doesn't mandate stupid policies like mandatory mouth diapers. If you are a freedom loving American, this is the place for you to shop in Apalachicola.

I came through here back in 2019 and saw this Piggly Wiggly. We used to have them in South Texas so I decided to stop in and take a look. It was a nice, clean little store. I wrote this review before, but deleted a lot of reviews in a moment of ???, so I am having to rewrite those that remember that I liked and feel are worth the effort.
I did see the negative review about the unhelpful clerk person who ignored Lisa and her mother, and unfortunately that seems to be the way things are going at this time. Small stores are forced to beg for any help that they can get now. I am hoping that the tables

Returned to St. George some eight months after I left the previous review, and it seems that little has changed at the local Piggly Wiggly. I will applaud the deli folks for providing the right meats and cheeses this time around, a notable improvement compared to my 2020 visit. Unfortunately, it seems nobody has yet to realize that the Boar's Head sandwich pepperoni comes wrapped in plastic which should really be peeled back before slicing. At least now I know, thanks to last year's experience, to check for this when assembling a sandwich, and I suppose it is but a minor inconvenience

Just left the Piggly Wiggly in Apalachicola. The sign says masks required, yet maybe half of the employees wear them. Also, as I was checking out the girl took a bite of a sandwhich at the register and was not wearing a mask. The employees yell across the store about personal conversations. The store was dirty and definitely not following COVID-19 guidelines. How is this happening? I left feeling disgusted.

UPDATE
My original review was left in June 2019 for a visit to the store 6/22/19. Today 03/31/20 I recieved a response from the store, over 9 months later. Honestly, if Piggly Wiggly was really interested in what I had to say they would be more proactive and reach out timely for additional feedback.

Your store is really disgusting. It looks like it hasn't been updated in 30 years. We've been to the store last year and this year and it is small very small variety and not welcoming on the outside and more expensive than the one in Port St Joe Florida. The Piggly Wiggly in Port Saint Joe is bright up-to-date clean and a good variety. Apalachicola has a lot of tourists and this is basically the only place to go and that is very sad. Part of your sign is gone on the front of the store and the sign under the lamp post is so old and on a pole that Should've been taken down years ago

No trip to Apalachicola is complete without a daily trip to "The Pig". They have everything you need...plus hot prepared food (especially breakfast) at the deli bar and more...The wine selection holds its own with any wine bar. No trip to Apalachicola is complete without the Piggly Wiggly. Like Apalachicola, this grocery store is old school, yet well maintained. It's just part of the "Apalach" experience!

For the most part I liked this store but the deli department has a lot to learn about customer service. you have to fill out a form to get your lunch meat which I did but I did not sign my name. I am elderly and do not see that well. When I returned to get my lunch meat the man behind the counter told me I didn't pass the test because I had not signed the paper. Although there was no one else there he just ignored me and started cleaning the cutting machines. Finally I just walked away.

When I write a review, I try to look at everything in a logical perspective. I understand, for example, that anybody can have a bad day. Like with any other grocery store (including the one I am currently employed with), some things (mostly minor things) can slip through the cracks. As a result, I try to give reviews that are accurate, but I try not to nitpick. This is what I observed when I go into Piggly Wiggly: 1) The workers are very nice people. I've worked at places where the atmosphere was ruined because of rude workers/managers/owners (not just someone having a bad day because of the

The store seemed a little sketchy on the outside, but we didn't have too many options while in Port St. Joe. So we drove to Apalachicola after we made our shopping list. We wound our way through the store and all we could not find was deli meat - we would have been happy with some Hillshire Farms or Oscar Meyer.

Slowest service ever. After shopping we finally found the deli counter in the corner and I spent over 30 minutes waiting for the more

Based on the reviews, I was expecting a subpar shopping experience. The building is attached to a gas station, which put me off at first. However, the produce was fresh and I was actually surprised at the variety of items they offered at the store. It is a little disorganized, but I didn't come to the beach just to grocery shop. The cashier was very friendly and helpful.

We came in here to get donuts, coffee and drinks for our family. We came in to late for there hot foods. Otherwise we might have gotten chicken. They were already cleaning up. I like the hometown feel of theses stores. It feels like community. I don't get that feeling where I live. Of course I live in a big city. They made fresh coffee especially for us and it tasted great!!!
