So I've been coming to the Colorist Salon for a little over 12 years now. I used to have really long hair but for the past 6 years I've had my hair fairly short because I'm not afraid to express myself anymore. Anyways my go to person that I go to for a haircut and dye job is Heidi. She pays extra attention to detail and is super gentle every time she has dyed my hair making sure the bleach doesn't burn my scalp. I really appreciate that. And I remember when I first asked her to chop my long locks off, she kept asking if that's what I really wanted since she has only known

A hair stylist turned my hair black so I called them and asked if they could lighten it. John said to come in and they would look at my hair and see what they could do. I came in the next morning and they lightened my hair perfectly!! They were all incredibly nice and were always checking on me to make sure that I was comfortable and my scalp wasn't burning. I will definitely go back!!

I asked just to tone and add some highlights in the front. She gave me a hard time so I then asked for her to dye it just one color.But the stylist did not want to listen!! She insisted on $300+ balayage. She also assumed I was Vietnamese and kept on calling me Che which means someone who is older. FYI. I'm younger so that's pretty rude. Never EVER coming back! The paying customer makes the decisions not you.

It was my first time going here and I had really high hopes because of the pictures and the reviews. My stylist, Linda,, and staff were nice, but my hair did not come out like I wanted it. I asked for a balayage with medium brown base and some caramel pieces or light brown. It came out medium brown with ash blonde highlights that looked greenish at the ends. My cut looked choppy. I went back the next day for toner asking for warm tones, the caramel and it came out looking slightly darker but still blondish green. I really dislike it and it looked better before the "balayage" .

I love what Heidi did with my hair! I came in with uneven tones and uneven hair and she gave me layers and did what looked good on me! It was nerv racking for me to get my hair done because it was my first time. I'm so glad I came to Heidi, never cutting my own hair or dying it by myself anymore.

Heidi updated my hair style with a fresh hair cut and bangs. My hair is super thick and she lighten the weight with front and back layers. My head feels lighter.
Peekaboo blue hair is from previous time when Heidi lightened the bottom portion of hair. My new hair cut allows the blue color underneath to pop through. Love it!

I had my uneven pandemic hair colored perfectly here by John. My hair is thin and had no shape.
He worked magic and made me feel great! Now I have a little style...

I've finally decided to come on Yelp and give them a 5 star rating because I have come here again and again for my hair. I love getting my hair cut and colored at this salon and each time I leave completely satisfied with the outcome! Multiple people have done my hair and they have all been great! I love the family like relationship that all the hair stylists and they are so kind every time I come. I have naturally dark Brown almost black hair and I have done Red and Blue! I live in LA but this is my regular salon and it is well worth the drive! The salon is very clean and the name does not lie, they truly are specialists at coloring hair.

I was very nervous of trying a new stylist (my current one had moved away ) after 3 years. I got balayage and it took me around 3 hours . Christina was amazing and made sure I got what I wanted and even took a fabulous photo at the end. Covid measures are great and proper protocols were taken at all times. This is a quality salon so please don't go there expecting a $50 cut and color. I paid $290 which included tip, to change my hair from a single color to balayage

Love this salon! I haven't had my hair cut in a year due to covid, so I'm glad colorist salon are taking customers now. Heidi helped me with my hair. I told her my hair was flat and grew into one length. She gave me soft layers and she really knew how to cut my long hair. Now my hair looks healthy and renewed! Great service and Heidi is very skilled with cutting long hair! I would be coming back to get a balayage done by her soon.

I needed a hair cut bad! It's been years since my last cut and a lot of my friends recommended Heidi! I called and made an appt with her and so glad I went to her. She asked me several times before I decided to cut my long hair if I was sure. I was definitely sure!
She was careful, took her time, chatted with me about the pandemic, life, my holiday plans, just very personable and friendly. I loved the a line cut she gave me and it's so fresh.

Made the drive from LA to Santa Ana fir this salon after lots of research on what salons are good with color and short haircuts. The salon is located in a shopping area and from the outside doesn't stand out too much but the inside is beautiful. From the moment we stepped in until the moment we left everyone at the salon was friendly and welcoming. My best friend and i wanted dramatic hair changes and they were very thoughtful in the advice I received, since I mentioned I wasn't sure which style would look best on me. A friend recommended John and Heidi to balayage my "virgin black hair." She always had really great light brown hair, gray hair, ashy blonde and different shades and it was always done by John or Heidi.

Awesome experience for me. Very clean and organize shop and full of good vibes. Got more than just a haircut, got a little extra head massage as she was washing my head which is a plus ^_^ Very friendly and convenient cause its basically right across from my house. I notice that she was really thorough and I just realize that there's not a bunch of hair on my clothes or left over on my head which is a huge plus. I would definitely recommend this place to all my friends. I will be back for more! Thu was my hairstylist, she's awesome!
