Paradise Upholstery & Canvas opened its doors in 2001, after owner Pete Zimmerman completed a restoration project on a 1972 Century that had been in his family for many years and found that he enjoyed the work. He purchased a used commercial sewing machine and set up a table in his garage, and began making boat covers for his friends.
In 2005, Paradise built and moved into the 4,800 square foot building that is currently its home. At Paradise Upholstery & Canvas, high quality AND outstanding customer service is the mission. This goal is achieved with honesty and integrity, by establishing realistic expectations and then meeting or exceeding them.

Services
Paradise Upholstery and Canvas has been serving the Lake area since 2001, working to provide high quality products and exceptional customer service in every situation. Specializing in custom covers, biminis, and a wide range of upholstery work, the skilled craftsmen at Paradise strive to create the image envisioned in the minds of their customers.
Materials are ordered and stocked in a manner that ensures we are able to cut your entire cover from the same dye lot, so there are no color variations across the cover. Fabric joinery includes taping seams together before stitching, which helps to seal seams and stitch lines. Anywhere that two fabric edges are sewn together (seams and darts), these seams are also top-stitched, providing extra strength, durability and aesthetics.
The following products are those recommended by Paradise Upholstery and Canvas, and favored by our customers. Samples of alternative materials are available upon request. Used in the manufacture of trailer-able boat covers and tops due to its durability and dimensional stability, available in 18 solid colors.
Keep dirt, leaves, and other debris from accumulating on the fabric surface. Washing down with a garden hose on a bright, sunny day is recommended about once a month in warm weather. In colder months, use a soft bristle brush to sweep away debris. Do not scrub hard! Cover can be left on the boat for ease of cleaning.

We had a small re-upholstery job of a couple of worn boat cushions from a 20+ year-old boat. Though it took longer than they estimated to finish the job (understandable considering the amount of jobs they had), we were very happy with the end product. The cushions perfectly matched the color and design of the other original cushions in the boat. The vinyl and materials used seem to be of high quality with expert workmanship. If they put this amount of effort and pride in their work for a small job such as they did for us, I can only imagine the amount of tedious detail they would devote to a large

I stopped by the Paradise Upholstery booth at the 2017 boat show in St. Charles, Filled out the paperwork for a custom boat cover. They told me that they would contact me with a date and time to bring my boat to them. After a year of waiting, I bought an aftermarket cover. To this day, I have never heard back from them. It's been nearly 2 years.
