Operating an event venue has been a concept in our minds for well over a decade now. We viewed properties and brainstormed ideas, but nothing ever seemed to pan out. Until May of 2018 when we were presented with the option of occupying space in the Sanctuary, located in Downtown Plainfield, Illinois.
This space dates back to 1904, when it was used as a Trolley Barn. It has since been completely refurbished into a beautiful and unique venue that still maintains it's historical value. We knew this venue was where we wanted to be, and Sanctuary Events was born. After many emotional months that felt like years, we opened our doors in December of 2019 and are thrilled to now have the opportunity to work alongside you to make your event memorable.

I love this venue but paid extra to have reserve seating and was told to be quite because we were cheering and talking to loud in each other’s ears mind you ,why wouldn’t I go to a concert and celebrate the band and talk about it and it was not just once it was twice ( first time I was gone and was intermission)

When we first pulled up I said, "I didn't expect him to be in quite so small a room." While I was taking video from the balcony I felt like the venue was a slice out of an Arena. It is a perfect size, the kind that I'm sure would be a little cold if not packed with bodies. Plus the old church is straight up gorgeous. One of the most unique venues I've ever been to; I hope one day I can book it for myself.
