Skylar Shankman is a New England based photographer and videographer specializing in candid portraiture and cinematic promotional and marketing videos. His fine art photography is firmly rooted in the inherent subjectivity of art and the idea that no two people see the same thing. The titles of his images are simple, describing only what the photographer saw at the moment of capture, inviting the viewer to draw out their own meaning.

Skylar is really an excellent videographer and we have worked with him for several years. He is professional, intuitive, and makes good editing decisions. Skylar's pricing is competitive, and there is much less back and forth on the editing than with other video vendors we have used. We really see him as an extension of our team.

I've worked with Skylar for the past three years at Cambridge Health Alliance. His work is exceptional. Not only does he create excellent videos, he's incredibly reliable, organized and professional. Now that we've created many videos together, we work well together during production, checking in along the way to make sure we're capturing the footage needed during filming. Skylar works his magic with minimal direction needed. We rarely have to edit rough cuts more than once as he captures the essence of what we're trying to accomplish almost always on the first shot.

Skylar has provided photography services for our program over the past 5-6 year. He has photographed social events, student work and facilities as well as head shots for our faculty and staff. Skylar is reliable, responsive and his work is excellent. He is flexible and responsive to specific requests, gets good candids and his turnaround time is quick.
