Services
We are the Cougar Band & Guard at College Station High School in College Station, Texas. Our program began when the school opened in 2012 as the second public high school in College Station. We have grown quickly, and we now have more than 220 participating students (around 10 percent of the CSHS student body).
Senior Katherine Renard, our 2021 head drum major, plays flute and piccolo in our wind ensemble and is a member of the CSHS woodwind quintet, Axiom Winds. She is also an accomplished pianist outside of band and teaches lessons at Breakthrough Music School. Katherine served as a flute section leader last year, and is looking forward to directing the band this year in our 2021 show, Emotions of the Heart, as we head into a state year!
Color Guard performances are high-energy, and guard members are athletes who combine the performing and visual arts using dance, gymnastics, theater, acrobatics, equipment manipulation (including flags, rifles, sabers and other props), and visual color. A variety of dance idioms are incorporated, including ballet, jazz, and modern styles.

This is a beautiful School with fabulous teachers and staff that go way other way to make sure these kids are very well educated! They have a phenomenal Auditorium and a incredible drama Department that other schools would be envious. I wish there were more schools like this campus. Maybe it would motivate some of the kids in other parts of the state to stay and graduate and even continue their education in college. The staff here motivates these young men and women to do more than just show up and expect to be rewarded with something they didn't earn.
