Hypnosis (hypnosis used for helping, healing or therapeutic purposes) is a medically approved method for treating a wide variety of conditions and personal issues. The techniques of hypnosis can be used on their own or with other forms of therapy to help. Because it works directly with the subconscious mind, it is a rapid and effective treatment, which can be much faster than other traditional "talk psychotherapy".
This course is approved for Continuing Education Contact Hours by NGH (for Social Workers, Licensed Professional Counselors and others check with your licensing board). Can hypnosis be bad for your health? No. My guess would be that all medical practitioners would agree on the health benefits of relaxation. Relaxation helps to bring about a homeostatic balance - a balance within the system of mind, body and soul, emotionally and physically. The problem is that a lot of doctors say to people, "you need to learn to relax", but they never really give them the tools for knowing "how to relax".
