The Sun Viking entity has existed for well over a decade. In 1999, as Derek W. Starts earned his Bachelor of Science in Ornamental Horticulture and Environmental Design from Delaware Valley College, Derek started Sun Viking. From that day until now, Derek and the Sun Viking team have designed and installed landscapes of all shapes and sizes.

The Sun Viking Land Design Team was great to work with from start to finish. They helped us solve a problem with an old brick patio and sloping issues. We had multiple companies come out to our house and Sun Viking was the only company that gave us a clear and complete picture of what we needed to do to solve our issue. We love our new patio and know who we will be using for any future landscape/hardscape projects.

Sun Viking Land Design did a great job. Their design team met with me and discussed what I wanted and then encompassed a design that included all that I asked for in a layout. They set a start date, were there on time, and finished it up in a timely manner, too. Their workers were great and professional. Their work was meticulous, they were easy to have around, and cleaned up every day. I am very happy with the project and recommend them without reservation. My wife and I looked at about four other landscapers before deciding to go with Sun Viking Land Design. After we met with Derek (Owner) he clearly laid out exactly what he and his crew would do, how it would look, the time frame and cost! Let me say he accurately delivered! Dave (Crew foreman) is very talented in working with stone. He went the extra mile to make sure my wife and I were happy throughout the job. To anyone looking to have a beautiful stone patio installed in your backyard, you would be foolish to not call Sun Viking Land Design.

We hired Sun Viking in 2016 to regrade our back yard, lay a substantial paver patio, redo steps, sod and flower bed. Not only did the job get completed with amazing attention to detail - it's held up beautifully. Unfortunately, I've heard horror stories of friends/colleagues hiring a contractor to only have the paver patio shift/sink after months. Fast forward to 2019- we had Sun Viking Land Designs do our sizeable with many unknowns - degrading and unsafe porch. Derek, Dave, Sly and team once again met the challenge and delivered a porch that held the time period and that we absolutely love. Derek

Derek and his team are amazing guys.
We requested a quote to update/replace our old brick steps and no one came close to what Sun Viking offered.
Not only did they update our steps but they did some additional work we weren't expecting which included rerouting our downspout which helped resolve a moisture issue in our basement.
Additionally, we've used their lawn services and have been completely happy. When Derek was by dropping off our invoice he noticed a barely loose step tile and stopped what he was doing to take it off and replace it.
You don't get service from many people like this anymore

I have worked with two other large landscaping contractors in the area, and I'm a huge fan of Sun Viking. Derek and Dave do an incredible job. Unlike some of the other larger contractors, you will be seeing the same person when you get the quote, when you work out the design, and during construction. They are experts on design, construction, drainage, plant selection and maintenance. Every day I would talk to our foreman Dave, we would work out some details, and he would be there all day making sure things were done perfectly. A few years ago I had Sun Viking install a patio for me. They were extremely professional and did an amazing job. I recently had some landscaping work that needed to be done and they immediately came to mind. Derek was able to fit me into his schedule and made sure to complete the work before a party I had in my yard. Their prices are competitive and they pay close attention to detail. In my experience it has been rare to find a company that takes as much pride in their work as Sun Viking. We made the mistake of hiring another company first to build us a patio and two sets of steps. They totally botched the job, costing us money, time, and weeks of access to our backyard! Not only is their work excellent but their prices are fair. They made sure to measure twice and cut once. I talked to at least six other companies to do this hardscaping job and what separates Derek from the rest of them is his honesty, knowledge and skill of his employees. He does not sell you more than you need!
