We have two beautiful studios with high ceilings, shock-absorbing floors, wall-to-wall mirrors, handmade ballet barres, and a fantastic sound system.

Services
Blake grew up dancing at Ann Catherine Cross School of Dance, owned by his mom, Ann Catherine Cross. He graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Contemporary Dance from the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, and completed his Master of Fine Arts degree in Dance at Hollins University.
This year, we will be holding in-person registration at our open house events listed below. All classes require a specific dress code, which is available for purchase from the studio. Dancewear requirements and guidelines vary depending on the class. Adherence to the dress code is mandatory. Dancewear that is not part of the dress code is not permitted in class.
Aileron studios are equipped with shock-absorbing floors specifically for dance. Foam underlayment and two layers of durable plywood provides the proper subfloor for preventing injuries and undue stress on joints. Our floor surface, commonly known as "Marley" is the industry standard, making sure dancers have just enough grip and slide.

I can’t rave enough about Blake and Aileron Performing Arts studio. Both my girls are a part of Blake’s dance company and love being at the studio. The teachers are very patient with my over rambunctious 7 year old and have been able to grow her as a dancer. My girls have grown into beautiful dancers because of the hard work and dedication Blake put in. He is constantly improving and growing above and beyond for the kids at the studio. I wouldn’t dream of taking my kids anywhere else.

So happy with this studio and staff. The dance teachers are outstanding. My 5 year old daughter was signed up for the dance class to work on her coordination and have another outlet that involves social interaction in a small group setting. Miss Anna Jane allowed the students to grow at their own pace while individually challenging them.
We were in the studio once a week and immediately felt like family! If you are looking for the successful combination of technique and fun, this is the place for you!

Aileron has been a incredible experience for my daughter. She changed from a larger studio that was not able to offer the same opportunities for all dancers. The teachers (& owner) at Aileron truly care about each dancers development and the only requirement in return is commitment, passion for learning and respect for all in the studio. I highly recommend this studio!!!

The Studio Owner and Teacher Blake is very dedicated to teaching quality dance. Blake started teaching my girls 7 years ago! In 7 years both girls have learned so much. Aileron is home. Aileron offers an incredible experience to learn all types of dance. The teachers are all top notch! Blake is teaching the kids more than dance; he is teaching them skills for life. The classes are all good-sized offering more one-on-one attention for those kids that learn at different speeds.

My daughter and sister dance here and LOVE it. Blake is a joy to be around, the teachers are great, and they are learning how to perform and good technique. Some people may have had a negative experience because of their own attitudes, not the fault of the owner. It is all about DANCE and doing what you love.

Both my son and daughter dance @ Aileron. I can not begin to describe the confidence it has brought out in both of my children. Blake has helped my son find a passion for dance that I never knew existed. I thank him every day for bringing dance into our lives! This place is like a home to us.

I have worked as a teacher at Aileron Performing Arts Studio for over 3 years now, and loved every second of it. The atmosphere Blake has created at the studio is artistic, expressive, and freeing. Students have the opportunity to choreograph their own dances, help assist the teachers in class, and learn about dance history and the dance industry. This is curriculum most dance students don’t have access to until their college years. This is a nurturing environment for any and all types of students who seek a dance education.
