This two hour tour begins on the small meandering stream of Panther Run, and continues upstream exploring each twist and bend to discover Maine's natural wildlife. The unique, relaxed birding and beer-ing adventures combine great local birding at seasonal hotspots with visits to sample the delicious creations of some of our favorite local producers.
Maine BayCycle picks up passengers at Bell Buoy Park, located on Commercial Street in downtown Portland, Maine. More information can be found on the Contact page. Yes, unless the boat is chartered for a private party. If you would like to bring passengers under 21 otherwise, please call or email to set up a cruise.

Maine BayCycle was a great experience! I booked for a bachelorette and the novelty of pedalling was a blast, though people definitely get tired quickly. Thankfully there is a motor to get us to and from where we need to go. Captain Neil was a great host. We were able to brink our own drinks on board and could sync to the bluetooth to listen to whatever we wanted. Highly recommend for group events!

My company booked this vessel for a team outing of a dozen people and had a wonderful experience! Our captain was all-around amazing from start to finish; he fielded our questions prior to booking and then made special accomodations for us to drop off our drinks a day ahead so that we didn't have to lug a cooler around downtown Portland the day of the event. I would definitely recommend this as a fabulous summer outing for groups. Thanks Captain Neil!

We had a blast on the 7pm cruise! There were 12 of us and we chose the "booze cruise" option, which means that there is already booze on the boat so you can just walk on. The evening sky was perfect and the captain was nice and accommodating. I am definitely going to take work clients on this trip next time.

Neil (sorry if spelling is wrong), was amazing as our captain. We had so much fun touring around on the waters and saw a seal. Our bachelorette party all had a wonderful time and made the experience completely memorable. You dont have to pedal entire time..we certainly got lazy and just danced to the music lol. Thank you for having us and giving us recommendations on where to go after.

The baycycle cruise was a fun time! The boat fits 15 people and a party of 7 of my friends booked the 1.5 hour charter for my bachelorette weekend, it was awesome!! They let you bring your own alcohol and play the music!

Baycycle was super fun! It was an awesome group experience (we took our wedding party). Some of us turned the pedaling into a competition, and some of us were a bit more relaxed, but we all bonded and had a great experience! I definitely want to do it again!

Just came back from a fantastic Bachelorette Party weekend in Portland and Maine BayCycle was HANDS DOWN the highlight of the trip! We had such a blast peddling/cruising around the bay, jamming out to our favorite tunes and enjoying some tasty beverages. I would absolutely do this again and recommend it to anyone looking for a fun group outing while in Portland, ME!!

There was some slight rain in the morning and they canceled a reservation that we had booked 4 weeks in advance for a bachelorette party - gave an excuse that the weather was hanging around longer than they anticipated, rain stopped early in the afternoon but then they were unresponsive to calls or texts. Would not recommend, it was one of the only things that the bride wanted to do and it seems like the owners just wanted the day off.

A great group activity - you and 9 others provide the pedal power and beverages, and leave the driving to the captain. Was visiting Portland for a conference and a few of us decided this would be a fun and "different" thing to try. What a great experience. Not only did we get some exercise in, but got to meet some wonderful people as well.
While it's a fun activity, it's also a decent workout. Pedaling itself isn't difficult, but keeping it up for 90 minutes can get tiring. Pace yourself and all will be well.
