The Albany & Eastern Railroad is a short line railroad serving the mid Willamette Valley, interconnecting with BOTH the BNSF and Union Pacific Railroads. Our unique ability to interchange with both Class 1 railroads in the west allows us to offer an added level of service to our customers and expands their ability to reach markets throughout the US.

In addition, we offer reload / trans load facilities on both the east (Lebanon, OR.) and west (South Corvallis) sides of the Willamette Valley to meet the needs of our non-rail served customers throughout the area. Just because your business or facility is not located on a rail line does not mean you cannot take advantage of the tremendous transportation savings offered by rail, not to mention the environmental benefits of rail transportation.
Services
The Albany and Eastern Railroad (under it's current ownership) is privately and locally owned. The current owners acquired the railroad in 2007 and quickly set about re-vamping the company and its aging infrastructure. The goal of our ownership is to revitalize the railroad business to offer a faster more efficient means for our customers to move their goods to and from markets.
The AERC has a solution for almost any product you need shipped either to or from our railroad. Even if you're not located near our lines, we can help you get your product from your location to your markets via rail, utilizing our reload / trans-load facilities. Contact our office for tariff rates, car ordering or switching charges.
Bulk Reload / Trans Load: Venell Farms offers over 10 acres of usable space as well as covered storage for products that need protection from the elements. Facilities include truck to rail and rail to truck elevators for bulk commodities, loading docks for box car loading as well as equipment availability for specialty loading or freight that may require cranes for loading or unloading.
