The People's Food Co-op (PFC) is Kalamazoo's community-owned, locally grown natural grocer since 1970. We're owned by over 3,600 folks in our community. Although owning a grocery store with your neighbors is pretty rad, everyone is welcome to shop at PFC. No membership required to shop. You can find a full array of natural products and healthful foods at reasonable prices at PFC.
Throughout the store, we have a variety of locally produced items, a large selection of bulk foods, and an assortment of natural health & beauty products. The PFC Deli offers a variety of freshly prepared foods, including sandwiches, wraps, baked goods, hot soup, an organic salad bar, olive bar, and more.

We're owned by over 3,700 folks in our community. Although owning a grocery store with your neighbors is pretty rad, everyone is welcome to shop at PFC. We identify as an anti-racist, anti-oppressive cooperative, actively working to dismantle systemic racism and other oppressions in our organization, partnerships, and community, in part through the implementation of an Anti-Racism Transformation Team (ARTT).
To help your holiday meal go as smooth as butter, we'll be open normal hours (8am-8pm) every day until the big day to make sure you have everything you need to get your favorites on the table. With love for people & food, we've cooked up a few new ways to enjoy the Deli team's made-with-love, tasty food this holiday.
Ready-to-go meals made with love, organic ingredients, and as many local foods as we can get our hands on. We provide our community with seasonal, local, organic food that is wholesome, delicious, and made fresh in our kitchen daily. Our deli features a hot food bar and housemade hot soups that change daily, an organic salad bar, an olive bar, and a variety of housemade sandwiches, salads, dips, treats and more!
Turkeys are raised on pasture by Henry Graber and his family, Amish farmers of Old Home Place in LaGrange, Indiana (50ish miles from your Co-op!). On the Tuesday or Wednesday before Thanksgiving, we'll have your fresh (never frozen) turkey ready for pickup at the store. Please visit the store or give us a call to check availability and place your order.
A wide selection of organically grown fruits, vegetables, and sprouts, with an emphasis on locally grown and seasonal items. An assortment of whole grains, rice, flour, sugar, dried beans, nut butters, dried fruit, nuts, coffee, candies, granolas, and more. Got my poor ppl doubles up bucks stolen by a attractive black woman cashier
Pretty sad I do go hungry sometimes but hope she needed it more Than me
Really do love this grocery sucks . If you can resolve this by being like hey she forgot to give you the receipt that'd be sweet. Do you need a way to identify it is me who she accidentally stole 40 bucks from?? Like by my pic? Or need a card number?? Ha

I love shopping here not only for the quality of food but because I know that I am supporting local people. I want to know that my quality of food is as important to the grower. I know the quality of meat and dairy products also show the care of the people who raise them. There is nothing like fresh whole milk in a glass container to drink or cook with.

They have a lot of delicious goodies that other healthy stores don't have, at good prices! Super awesome place, highly recommended. If you shop there a lot, consider investing in being an owner! Investing in your local community is worth it and you can get some bonus discounts that it pays for itself quickly

I am a regular for past 2 years and they are fantastic. The staff is great and I am sure that is not easy to make a leaving from a small store. I am officially PFC owner and very proud that I finally decided to support them. May be they don’t carry 1000s of items, but what they have on shelf is local and good quality. Can’t wait for the summer, I always like to stop during my biking trip on KRVT have a drink or a sandwich.

If you love organic and natural products this is the place for you! You have to try the People's Food Co - Op! PFC's staff is really friendly and knowledgeable about their store and it's products. I spoke with Aimee who shared the fascinating fact that PFC is owned by hundreds of people.
Knowing some of the history of this store makes this place even more special. Aimee told me that PFC started out with just a number of bulk bins. This store is well lit with good signage. They have a wide variety of produce and shelf stable products. Their cleaning products are truly amazing!
