Services
When the opportunity arose to provide repair and maintenance service for the Reston Connector metro feeder bus system in 1991, Fleet Authority was formed. Located initially in only 1500 square feet in a warehouse in Merrifield, Fleet Authority opened its doors offering service almost exclusively to that bus company.
Fleet Authority has teamed up with Credit First National Association which offers a dedicated line of credit called AutoPass. The Credit First National Association credit card AutoPass is a convenient financing solution that gives Fleet Authority customers the power to purchase services needed today.
Phil has been repairing vehicles for more than 45 years. He always wanted to be a mechanic. He took vocational automotive classes at Chantilly High School and auto courses at NOVA Community College. He has turned wrenches at various independent repair shops in the Northern Virginia area for years before opening Fleet Authority.
That is extremely difficult, especially on commercial vehicles since many are custom builds. We pride ourselves in accuracy and attention to detail. Phillip and his team at Fleet Authority are extremely professional and knowledgeable in their work. I am a food truck owner, and my truck is my business so when it broke down I took it here for diagnostics and repairs. I actually made an appointment to bring it in later that week, but Phillip was very accommodating and gave me a status update a couple of days before the truck was actually due in.

Nothing but extremely rude customer service, I initially came into the parking lot and was told not asked to move my car. There were plenty of space and the place was closing within 20 minutes anyway so it's not like there was a rush of people needing spots. Anyway the customer service alone is egregious. I'd never recommend this place to anyone.

Our food truck had a lot of work that needed to be done so that we could pass the Maryland State inspection. We had just taken the truck through inspection and failed for a myriad of things that related to suspension, head lights, brakes, seat belt, you name it we failed it.

Mr. Phillip is a great and knowledgeable mechanic, he helped me pick out and installed a new clutch for my 1983 C3500. While installing the clutch he noticed errors from the previous owner and addressed them without batting an eye nor did he cut corners fixing those problems(he went far and beyond what a normal mechanic would do). He kept me informed during the whole process, took pictures, showed me the old worn out clutch pad/broken spline gears, did an overview of my truck, and got my truck fixed in a timely fashion. I bought an E450 lemon. Phil and Annette helped me identify the problems and supported me in dealing with the seller/dealer. After I got it fixed as much as I could by the seller, Phil fixed all the loose ends. I can’t believe the difference in the way it handles. Great shop, great people, honest and kind.

Phil & his team were great to work into their schedule emergency brake repairs, fluid changes and state inspection on my 2001 Excursion on a tight timeline that required hunting done nearly obsolete parts and redoing the half-baked repairs performed by another local shop just a year ago. I noticed residue on my Tundra's steering bellow, and was prepared for the worst case scenario - a new steering rack for ~$2,460. I used the key drop to drop it off after hours which was very convenient, and the next day Phil gave me a call and explained that some seepage is common on these trucks, and that mine does not need replacement even for a cross country drive. He unclamped it, found actually no leak, cleaned it and good to go. Any other shop could have taken advantage of the situation and had me replace it for $2,400, and I would never have known any better. I highly recommend and trust

Phil and Annette have been great to work with on an older F450 stake body 7.3 L diesel dump truck. The truck sits mainly at construction sites to gather debris and transport to the appropriate location. So not many miles each year, but it is of the age the requires some attention. Phil realizes it is an old work truck and items to be addressed are prioritized beginning with the "have to" to "later". This is not a truck you hook up to a computer that spits out the problem so to find someone with the knowledge and skills as Phil has been invaluable. Our church and school have been relying on Phil at Fleet Authority for over 5 years to solve the unsolvable as well as to handle everything automotive in our small 'fleet'. When our 2006 Ford 450 diesel activity bus refused any attempt to stop its intermittent starting problem, we were stuck and frustrated with an inoperable bus. However, Phil got to the root of the problem in the engine's wiring harness and gave us back a working bus we could depend on.
