I purchased a 1968 GMC C20 as a project/ hope when I beat my fight against my cancer. I was trying to decide between a crate motor or having my small block rebuilt. I was referred to this place by the local Buick dealership.
I had a very lengthy conversation with Leonard and he went thru every step of the process in so much detail and explained everything that they would do including options and upgrades, and things that I should look out for.
I am an assistant manager at a local body shop and I know that customer service is a very critical part of the repair process and making the customer knowledgeable

I took my connecting rods to get checked out to see if new ones had to be ordered. When they tightened them down, they were not lined up properly and they ruined all of them. They then tried to blame me for their mistake. I get mistakes happen, but at least take responsibility for it. I would not recommend, they are not trust worthy.

I normally don't go out of my way to leave reviews, but in this instance I will. I had some parts down at a local machine shop called Wiesner cerato machine. Unfortunately the owner passed away recently. I went down and picked up my parts and drove them down the street to Modesto engine Renu to drop them off, and asked for a quote. Filbert the owner of Wiesner cerato had already hot Tanked the parts for sizing. But unfortunately passed away before calling. After receiving the quote we decided to go a different route and I went to pick up the parts. I was then charged $80 for hot tanking "

First off I have been coming to this place with my dad since I was a kid. The family ran businesses are always my favorite because they care about their customers. I've had lots of machine work done and recently had a 496 big block chevy built. I needed lots of parts to get it how I wanted and they delivered. I was very pleased with Scott through my build as he stayed in my budget but helped maximize my horsepower. I've been able to call them or swing by and ask tech questions and they are always helpful. I will be a customer for life they do great work.

If you go anywhere else to have your engine parts machined, you are just cheating yourself. These guys are top notch and can help with anything you need. High performance, stock, import or domestic.
I needed new connecting rods for my 5.7l Hemi rebuild and not only did these guys beat everyone in price, but, they beat them by nearly $100! The parts were ordered on a Thursday afternoon. They said no later than Monday for delivery. The parts were in house AND they had them pressed onto my new pistons by the following morning at 9:30 AM!

I had a Ford 390 built by them a year and a half ago. They knew where to spend extra time/money and where I could save it, and ended up helping me make a motor that is way too good for the truck it's in. Ford FE series motors are a bit of a specialty, and these guys are the best place to go for them west of Barry Rabotnik (who literally wrote the book on them).
If you see a '72 F100 that looks like it's held together with duct tape, but sounds incredible, that's mine, thanks to these guys.

It's too bad there is a business in Modesto with as horrible service as this shop has. Unfortunately I was led to believe by the owner they could handle the few requests I had. All parts needed were provided except piston rings. They kept telling me they would complete the job in "2 weeks". 3 months later it was evident a prepaid job was simply not any concern to them.
If you need engine rebuilt or head work do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Bad business here...
