We will be sharing information about Waimea High School's Programs of Study, 10th grade Registration, and what decisions you and your child will need to make for next school year. This meeting will be held virtually and the link will be shared with you soon via email and/or our school website. If you have any questions, please contact our Academy Lead, Mr. Dante Casillas, or Counselor, Mr. David Greenberg.

Thank you to all of our parents who patiently endured the numerous technical snafus at our Open House last night, especially in my portions. We are posting the slide decks and recording(s) of the meetings that were held for your reference.

Please discuss this option carefully with your child and family as students/families must commit to distance learning for the entire school year; students will not be allowed to return to in-person instruction after being enrolled in e2020, our online platform. This platform is asynchronous and while there is a teacher assigned for progress monitoring, he is not there for specific content support.
To provide a 21st century education in an environment conducive to learning, teaching and growing in order that all students become productive, responsible citizens and lifelong learners. Have the attitudes, knowledge and skills to contribute positively to and compete in a global society. Exercise rights and responsibilities of citizenship and pursue post-secondary education and careers without remediation.
Over the last few years, Waimea High School has made great strides and improvements in student achievement by focusing on aligning what we do in classrooms with what's ahead, post-high school.

We now look at ourselves as a grade 9-16 entity and have redirected resources to this end -- concentrating on deeper learning/project based learning, increasing the sheer numbers of technology in all classrooms, expanding our five Career Technical Education pathways, and growing our Early college offerings so that many of this year's graduating seniors will leave with 23 credits under their belts, all earned on campus, tuition-free.
A variety of Early College courses are offered to Waimea HS students, free of charge each year. Students will need to sign up ahead of time with their grade level counselor if interested. Some of the classes, like English 100 and Math 103/140x require a placement test; students must meet the minimum test score in order to be considered for a spot in the class.
The Mc Kinney- Vento Homeless Education Assistance Act is a law which requires that school aged children have certain rights and protections. The poster provides information for families who may be facing homelessness. Resources are available to ensure children continue uninterrupted access to education and services.
