Services
Dings N Things is owned by a second-generation body man Greg "TC" Mertz and managed by Nic Mertz. Greg's father, Carl Mertz, ran many shops around the United States including the Volkswagen Porsche body shop which was located on South Glenstone Avenue in Springfield, Missouri. Greg grew up in his fathers' shop learning the business - beginning with simple tasks such as taping and sanding cars.
First of all, Be Safe! If you're involved in an accident, make sure your engine is off and it will be safe to get out and investigate. Call the police 911. Get all the information the officer gives you including name, address, insurance company from all drivers involved. You will be required to give your information as well.
If your car is driveable, come see our body shop. We'll call and process your claim, get you an estimate, and get you that much closer to getting back on the road. If you would prefer to call your insurance company first, be sure to get a claim number, and then come see us. Just be aware we are not affiliated with any insurance companies, we work for you!
Bam! Just like that, you're on the side of the road. Although car accidents are sudden and unnerving, you should always be prepared for the unexpected. Once you've checked that you and the other drivers and passengers are safe, your eyes will probably go straight to your wounded car. Battered and bruised, the car needs help.
Dings 'N Things has developed a great working relationship with all insurance companies to repair your vehicle back to pre-accident condition. There is no legal requirement to get more than one estimate. Differences in repair estimates vary due to the completeness of that estimate and current parts prices.

Highly recommended! Very professional staff and crew. Called-in to verify services, spoke with Zach. He is very accomodating. Drop- by and checked my car problem, he immediately quote me with reasonable price and schedule in other day since I'm not free.
The day came for my schedule service, he immediately had it done with the crew and to my surprise they did not charge me since it's a minor repair only!
I am getting their services again for a door lock problem.
Thanks Zach and the rest of the crew of Dings and Things!

We had a great experience with Zach at Dings ‘N’ Things. He really went out of his way to help us. After someone backed into our truck in a parking lot, and didn’t leave a note, Dings ‘N’ Things did a wonderful job fixing the damage and making our truck look even better than before. Customer service is an A+ with these guys. Hopefully I won’t need their help again but if I do I will certainly be back.

Alright. I took my car to the shop because my driver side door got messed up from an accident. The lock didn’t work, the door was dented in, but more importantly, the lock didn’t work. I made sure to emphasize this. I take my car to the shop, leave it there for a week, I get it back, it looks great! The drivers door was unlocked so I didn’t check to see if it was fixed but as soon as I shut the door, the door latch rattled as if it was still broken. It was. I had my car for 30 minutes and it “broke” just like that. The insurance company of the guilty party gave them a check to fix the

Zach and Nic were extremely helpful in fixing a large dent and scratch a runaway shopping cart put in my Z. Came in and got a quick estimate, talked over options and set up to have it repaired that Thursday. Went to pick it up and not only was it $100 less than the estimate, they had buffed out my headlights as well. Chatted with Nic about the car and understood that he really cared about it and enjoyed it.
I added some before and after photos below of the scratch and dent, as well as a photo of the headlights.

I was referred to Dings & Things by a colleague after being rear-ended. Zach and Greg were so kind, professional, and awesome to work with in general. The repair was done in a timely fashion and when I picked up the vehicle, the interior had been cleaned as well and the whole vehicle looked brand new! They made my experience as stress-free as possible and I would recommend their services to anyone.
