Cape Cod Tileworks was established in 1994 after Tom and Lane moved to the Cape from Westport Connecticut, where they had been the owners of Westport Tile and Design for 10 Years. Tom is a second generation installer with over 30 years experience. He is a long time writer for a number of different magazines such as Fine Homebuilding.
Lane has a degree in design from Rhode Island School of Design, as well as one from Sophia in Japan. Lane is also a contributor to Fine Homebuilding Magazine as well as Journal of Light Construction. Tom and Lane have just finished the revised edition of their book in the BUILD LIKE A PRO series called WORKING with TILE, which combines both design with installation techniques.

We used Cape Cod Tileworks for purchasing tile for our new addition bathrooms, to be installed by our contractor. They guided us to the perfect tile, both bathrooms turned out beautiful. Later when we remodeled our kitchen, Cape Cod Tileworks installed our back splash. Each time they made our remodeling process easier, with fabulous results. Great products and installation.

I went to Cape Cod Tileworks on a lazy Wednesday - early afternoon - with my mother to look for a tile backsplash for my mother's newly renovated kitchen. The women working inside didn't seem to care at all about our business - one woman asked if we needed help to which we responded YES!! and she told us to walk around and look for ourselves - we found several things we liked but couldn't garner the clerk's attention again and we left without the clerk even acknowledging that we had been there. VERY BAD EXPERIENCE - if you want help and knowledgeable know-how don't come here!
