Kathy managed the business during the days, while Joe worked on his three days off and in the late afternoons. By 1977, it was evident that the 500 square foot space was no longer adequate. With an expanding customer base, Summit Uniforms moved to a 3,000 square foot showroom where they remained for ten years.
As the business flourished to include Fire, Postal, Transit, Park Services, and EMS uniforms, they moved once again in 1987 to their current 8,000 square foot location on Meridian Avenue. Patrons immediately feel at home in this friendly, family operated business. Both having retired recently, Joe and Kathy have handed down the business to their two children, Patrick and Tricia.

Closed Sundays AND Mondays as well as every Federal holiday possible; not even one night open until 8pm or one Sunday afternoon a month. As a postal worker, there's never a time to shop there. Small selection of postal shoes and they won't have your size in stock, must back order and you'll have to return whenever they're open again..
For being the only USPS uniform store in the area, they don't seem to care much about their market possibilities.

Staff who work here are awesome! I love walking in and being greeted by one of their staff members always offering help with anything I need. I recently purchased a 5.11 jacket and some custom patches for work and they did a fantastic job. Only downfall is because theyre so busy, it took about 3 weeks to get my order complete. Thank you guys for everything I am definitely coming back for any uniform needs.

I needed to update my uniform and went to Summit. The total process from start to finish was maybe 30 minutes. The staff helped with the correct uniform manufacturer, size and final fitting. I thought I would have to return to pick up the uniform a week later but all patches, tab and hemming was done immediately. Awesome work. Thanks!!

Went there yesterday and the staff was super friendly and helpful. Told them I needed uniforms for my Academy. They asked what Academy and after I told them they grabbed exactly what I needed set me up with a dressing room and after I tried everything on they made sure everything was going to be the right length and comfortable, marking the lengths so everything could be properly tailored to fit. If you need your professional uniforms I highly recommend paying them a visit. I look forward to getting to trying on my uniforms after they've been tailored

I have been using Summit for my entire career. Pat and his staff always make sure things are right before and after. Their competitor has a location in the town that I work and I will not go back to them. Gave them a few opportunities due to their location but never again. Beyond the best customer service anyone could ever get in anything. The employees treat you like family and are so brilliant. They know every recruit, seasoned vet, what they order, what agency their with, sizes, family, it's amazing. Sometimes they even know when folks are moving agencies and mums the word. They are so professional, even when their own vendors are slow and lacking, they will do what they can to make sure you're suited and booted, representing your agency with confidence.

I started at Santa Clara Sheriff's Office in 1989 and have been a customer who has always been treated like FAMILY. This is a Family owned business and there is no other place you can go to be treated like Family (In todays world that means everything). I would never hesitate call or simply stop in to get my uniform needs met. I would give them an 11 out of 10 and will always recommend them to any one needing a uniform.

Each time I have come in, the staff go above and beyond the call to help me and find exactly what I need. They are higher in cost, but the quality of service and product is well worth it. I have a pair of boots from them that I've had for over 2 years, still kicking with plenty of life left. I will always come back to summit. They treat police, fire paramedics and security with the greatest care and respect.

This place is amazing! Family owned and operated, providing excellent, genuine customer service! I recently accepted an offer with MVPD and came in for the initial measurements for my BDU’s. The staff was professional and courteous. The owner called me to inform me that my uniforms were ready, as promised, within the two week mark. Summit Uniforms has made the process of obtaining uniforms very easy and enjoyable. The staff at the store are knowledgeable about several different LE agencies and know exactly what the uniforms need to look like. The staff are kind and knowledgeable. I obtained numerous items for work from this store and will continue to go to them. They are pricey but worth it, to get quality uniforms and support your local business.

Super rude staff in that uniform store! Its like pulling teeth to get some help in there! Walked in there a few days ago and they didn't even respond when I greeted them the lady just rolled her eyes like saying what do you want? Will never go there again. All other uniform stores there is kind and friendly staff, but here they must work for the government on account of how unhelpful and rude they are. Made me feel like I was there to beg for money or something.

I went in recently because I was in a jam. I had left my uniform set at home, no time to go back and get it, and needed to get to work in two hours. I had no problem with buying a shirt and trousers, but patches had to be sewed on and the trouser length had to be adjusted. Normally you have to come back for that.
I told them my predicament and they did the work while I waited. 20 minutes later I was on my way with what I needed.
This was a real problem and they came through for me. I am a fan and will be back again and again.

Premise: It has been mentioned here before, but I also believe that the ladies who work here only go out of their way to assist men in uniform. If you're a woman, they hesitate to help. I don't know why. Maybe their own husbands work in law enforcement so they are a priority. Even still, if you are running a store, customer service should be obligatory and non-discriminative.

I cannot say enough good things about Summit! I've been a customer for a few years now and have always been impressed with the level of service that they provide.
Their alterations are top-notch and lighting fast! I can usually buy anything and get it hemmed/altered within minutes. I have literally bought pants, tried them on, and had them hemmed on a 15 min break! (For an urgent replacement)!
I'm not sure why there are any bad reviews on Yelp for Summit. I've only ever seen their staff treat every customer with the utmost respect and care.

I was dropping my bf uniform for patches and most of the employees were very nice. One of them a small woman who was helping me was not very customer friendly. It was my first time doing this for my bf so I didn't really know the protocol of dropping off things. She was very blunt and basically kept glaring at me whenever I spoke. I gave them 3 stars because the rest of the workers were really nice and they do a good job at making sure my bf looks good for work with the proper badges!

Love this family-owned business!
I've been coming here since I was a police explorer and now in my public safety career, I always return to Summit Uniforms.
They have helped me with getting my uniforms tailored, adding a zipper to my shirts, installing name tapes and just always having the equipment in stock! Best part, everyone here knows what they are talking about.

This place is great and all of the people I interacted with were extremely helpful and made the whole process fun. I don't understand any of the negative reviews on here and I'd say disregard them. This is definitely a well run family business And everyone has great energy. I came in during an extremely busy afternoon and even though someone couldn't get me started immediately, they acknowledged me and got to me quickly after. They even have cute little K9 stuffed dogs for sale. I purchased the rest that they had on the shelf after hearing the proceeds go to "Sean M. Walsh K-9 Memorial Foundation".
