Services
As you no doubt remember from when you first learned to dive, the key to peak equipment performance is regular, professional maintenance. Having items such as regulator systems, BCs and cylinders inspected and maintained on a regular basis helps ensure long life and reliable service. Annual professional care is also a key component in maintaining the warranty on items such as regulator systems.
Hard-wearing premium materials: titanium case and scratch-resistant sapphire crystal glass. Be a HERO.GoPro, in HD. Developed for professional use, but at a consumer price, the HD HERO line of wearable cameras capture full HD video rivaling cameras costing 10x the price. How? GoPro's team consists of some of the the brightest minds in Silicon Valley who also happen to be obsessed withoutdoor sports, race cars, and all things moto.
You can't build a solid structure without a strong foundation. And while BC use is an important skill, it is not the most critical factor in buoyancy control. Dangling consoles and alternate second stages pose a danger to you, other divers and the environment. Find out why, and what you can do to avoid this peril.
From time to time we have people bring us equipment for service whom it appears do not understand some important facts about regulator maintenance. These people tell us that they just want to have us "check their regulator out, " and that their regulator has only been used "a couple of times" since it was last serviced.
At its peak is breath control - a diver's ability to make minute buoyancy adjustments by inhaling and exhaling more or less deeply. The next level in the pyramid is BC adjustment - the ability to compensate for exposure suit compression and expansion by adding to or removing air from the BC. The foundation of the pyramid is proper weighting - using only that weight which is necessary and no more.

Great family business that knows so much about equipment and areas to dive. I didn't take any classes from them, but spent a lot of time talking and getting to know the owners. I enjoyed and will definitely be back.

My wife and I log approximately 125 to 150 dives yearly on live-aboard boats and trips worldwide. Routine maintenance is essential to maintaining operational safety and failure free diving under heavy use and sometimes challenging diving conditions. I needed a local dive shop I could trust to perform routine inspection and maintenance on my equipment to keep it in top operational condition. I was fortunate to stumble into Undersea Scuba one day in need of that maintenance. Besides being a timely maintenance shop, I have found, over several years, Bruce, Sandy, and Caitlyn to be consistently pleasant

Good shop. Professional, knowledgeable and helpful staff. I’m giving a lower rating as I signed up for a dive class just before the pandemic. The class I was supposed to be in February 2020 got canceled due to limited sign ups. No problem but then the pandemic hit and I couldn’t get a class for 6 months +. In the mean time I was relocated for my work so I wasn’t going to be able to get my certification in Illinois. I called and spoke to Bruce multiple times and he just wasn’t budging on any refund. So I’m out the class fee and got nothing out of it. Not anyone’s fault but I thought

Recently took scuba refresher with Caitlyn. She is an EXCELLENT instructor, and very thorough, prepared me well for upcoming trip. I have not dived since 2017 live-aboard and a murky dive in quarry August 2020 cut short by thunder. So now I feel confident and very safe & ready for trip. Cate also advised on some gear purchases and is very patient, willing to answer ALL questions--not just the ones in PADI materials. I highly recommend Caitlyn and Underseas Scuba for solid instruction, advice and dive gear purchases.

Having just dipped my toe into the scuba waters, I was glad to have the team at Underseas to guide me. They walked me through identifying and selecting the initial gear I'd need and they got me set up with my first Open Water course and dives. Everyone I've met there has been helpful, patient, and enthusiastic.

Underseas was very kind and helpful when I reached out to inquire about a last minute PADI Advanced Open Water certification for an upcoming trip. Even though my last few dives (including multiple SSI certifications) were less than a month ago, other local centers told me that I would need to participate in a refresher course either because they didn't 'trust' my SSI credentials or because it was 'required'. One also told me that they wouldn't take me to the quarry because "I wouldn't enjoy it".... Needless to say, Bruce at Underseas came through AND

As a scuba neophyte, I was very happy with under seas.
I earned my PADI “open water diver” and “enriched air diver” Certificates with Louis (Louie) Gouletas, who was able to set a nervous guy like me at easy with the whole process (equipment, safety, etc.). Now I truly feel comfortable for my up-and-coming dive trips. I will be going back for “advanced open water” in the summer for sure!
Bruce and Kate really helpful to with walking me through the various price points for gear as well.
Overall a great experience!!

If you're looking for a place to get scuba qualified, refresh your skills, or even just service your gear this is the shop to go to. I got my certification here for my open water, my advanced, and my rescue diver and I couldn't have been happier. The staff is patient and respectful and they will help you not only find the gear that is best for you but help you take good care of it as well. Sandy is phenomenal, she has been servicing my hear for years and it's always in top shape! And Bruce is always the person to talk to about great diving places and the newest gear!

I recommend

The Underseas salesperson was very patient with this first-time wetsuit buyer. A college girl (name forgotten—sorry) who happened to be working there at the time was both knowledgeable and helpful. I was encouraged to try on several suits, and I asked a lot of questions, all of which were answered. After 30 minutes or so, I walked out with a moderately priced wetsuit that was just right for me. Still loving it after two months of regular use, too! Thumbs up, Underseas!

This shop sees how to help and not to scalp. Thanks Sandy for making my day and allowing me to use my good old Suunto Cobra for another few dive trips.

Went in to purchase a regulator for an upcoming dive trip. Bruce, the owner, was extremely helpful and informative about different choices for the set. They assembled it on site for no charge, and offered very competitive pricing. Will definitely be going back for additional equipment in the future!

My husband and I are dive enthusiasts and enjoy visiting different places every year. We just returned from another fabulous trip completely organized by Bruce, Sandy and the Underseas Scuba team. With 40 years experience we find them to be invaluable sources of information with exceptional expertise and fact based recommendations based upon our personal dive goals. Everything from where to dive, which dive operation is safest and best, to noticing on our last dive trip our equipment had been recalled and proactively offering to resolve the issue on our behalf. They are completely focused

When I signed up for the PADI scuba diving lessons about a month ago, I had no knowledge about the gear or the concepts of scuba diving, but I completed the course feeling confident about scuba diving.

When I went to buy my gear, fill out the medical form, pick up the materials I needed, etc., the staff was very helpful and I was able to get everything I needed for the course and my future trip to Belize without being pressured into getting anything I didn't need.

The zipper pouch given to me, and all the other students, contained all the materials needed for the course, including a sheet

NEVER EVER GO THERE!!! I wish I can rate it a negative star.

About one month before the class, I had some spare time to use on weekend. Because I will go to Bali this August and all the PADI courses around the world had the similar price, I thought why wouldn't I finish PADI OW course before I went to Bali so that at the time of arrival, I could enjoy scuba diving directly. Then I looked online to check if there was a good scuba diving center nearby. After reviewing at the extremely high rating on yelp, I convinced myself to drive there to check it out.

Tim was a guy who received me. I

As a Suunto computer user I can say that Sandy is the best!!! I had a problem with an old Suunto Gekko and sent it to the Suunto Salt Lake Service Center. They swapped it out with a different model and different mount. They were no help at all in getting the mount right (to fit into my console). I called Sandy and, even though I was not spending a penny with her, she spent the time to figure out the issue and tell me how to solve it. When we determined that a spacer was missing, she mailed one to me at no charge. I wish they had an online catalog so I could buy all my gear from her (I live in CA

I just finished earning my recreational PADI certification through underseas scuba. Kathy was my classroom/pool instructor and Dale was my open water instructor (in Haigh Quarry).

Words cannot describe how pleased I am at the friendliness, kindness, knowledge, teaching ability, and customer service that I experienced during this certification course. I would recommend underseas Scuba classes to anyone! They just did such an incredible job. I rarely write reviews on yelp, but could not hold myself back from writing this one!

Great job guys! Thanks!

These guys are listed online as one of the 6 or so certified sites for Agualung and Suunto gear. We drove quite a ways to drop off our gear for service. They told us two weeks (which seemed rather long as it was routine service only, no repairs needed.) Kept calling when it would be ready, and they kept asking "when were we diving?" Apparently, those who plan and prepare get bumped by those who come in with some "urgent" need to get something done pronto, whom they then accomodate at your expense. Finally got our gear back after more than 3 weeks, just in time to ship ahead

THE BEST EXPERIENCE EVER!

My husband and I took the class to become scuba certified, he was ecstatic & although I was also excited, I was MORE than a little timid, because I have never been a strong swimmer. Not only did the class instructor make ALL the various information easy to understand, but he went out of his way to help those of us who needed more help than others. Once we got into the pool, the instructors took their time with everyone, and if someone had a difficult time completing a task, they took them aside to work with them one on one, until the got it! Super patient, Very knowledgeable

Bruce and the team at Underseas Scuba have helped 3 generations of Mancuso's become certified scuba divers. Would recommend their expertise to anyone. I was a very (read VERY) nervous swimmer, much less diver, and the instructors were incredibly patient. They took their time getting me the right equipment to feel comfortable in the water too. Note - that equipment I purchased at 17 is still working 19 years later.....no joke, still use it.

Jackie & Keith were great, Bruce was very kind in the shop. We only did the initial training, great time and really great people. I have not done anything involving equipment purchasing yet but I did enjoy the conversation between Bruce and some guy buying a camera, the knowledge and education was enjoyable.
