Red cedar is among the most widespread tree species in the Pacific Northwest. It grows in a wide range of environments, on mountainsides, in lush forests and forested swamps and on the banks of streams. At Middletown Lumber, the primary source for our western red cedar supply is an old-growth mill out of Victoria, British Columbia.
Pronounced - eepay it is an extremely hard, dense, durable, tropical hardwood that is naturally resistant to rot decay and insect attack. It is an environmentally responsible choice over pressure-treated lumber, which contains a variety of toxins and chemicals which are harmful to you and your family.
We stock roofing grade plywood CDX in 4'x8' sheets of 1/2" and 3/4" - and in our A/C grade, we carry 1/2" and 3/4" as well. We tried imported plywood years ago to compete with the box stores. The face veneers were fine. It was the crossbands or substrate that the veneer were laminated to. The substrates were just thrown together and created a wave like appearance when you ran your hand over the veneer. Not something you would want to see after spending hours working on your project.

I had NO idea where to begin looking, but one of the associates came up to me, asked me what I was looking for, and guided me directly to both sections, and even provided me with a measuring tape when I had forgotten my own! All was affordable had great quality. Excellent service and product selection as well as quality. No need to buy wood elsewhere!

Had exactly what I needed, cut my pieces to my specifications so I could take it home in my vehicle. After talking to a cabinet maker friend of mine, I paid at least 30% more than I should have for Baltic Birch Plywood. Their prices are a little high, so if you have the option to call around, price shop a little.

When I call into ask if they carry something or can get it, I feel like I am a bother—that they don’t have the time or desire to help me. I often try to make purchases locally, and not just support online business or large corporations, but calls like today make me question my effort to support the smaller local businesses—after-all, the edge they have should be customer service. And sadly, ML lacks in that very area.

Great experience!!! Called down to the lumberyard to ask the guys if they had material I needed in stock. They told me they did and gave me a price over the phone.
I got there a few days later and one of the guys in the warehouse dropped down the stack of 2x8s in cedar and allowed me to pick through what I wanted. He then helped me to load the material on my truck and after laying the gentleman at the counter I was on my way.

Nice place, they have everything and I can't believe all the services that they offer! Service was friendly.
Downside is that prices for hardwood were pretty high. Red oak is basically a weed in this part of the state, and they were selling it for almost twice what I have paid elsewhere. But it was nice wood, and the location worked for me, so I guess I can't complain much. Wouldn't necessarily recommend it if you're a capable diy woodworker on a budget.

Middletown is the place to go for your lumber needs. They have what you need or will do their best to find it and their prices are always fare. The warehouse worker was so helpful picking and packing up my lumber so that I could transport it home safely. Thank you Middletown Lumber always worth the extra drive.

I'm a local handyman and often get asked to make furniture or accomplish projects that require the quality of woods and services that Middletown Lumber offers.
