Nesowadnehunk Lake Wilderness
Nesowadnehunk Lake Wilderness Campground is located on the Western side of Baxter State Park, we are located north of picturesque Mt. Katahdin. We are surrounded in natural beauty. Picture yourself standing on the edge of a crystal clear lake. The sun is going down behind you, the mountains across the lake have an orange glow and a snowy white moon is slowly rising above them.

A loon cries out and native brook trout wildly splash the surface of the water. A little bit of heaven on earth? We think so!

We pride ourselves on our clean cabins, homecooked meals, service, privacy and proximity to all the best that the famed Northern Woods has to offer. Our fly fishing is second to none. Hunting in Northern Maine is a tradition that goes back to the beginning of time. The best place to find Maine's wild game is in the North Maine Woods, and we are located in the heart of some of the best hunting available. We would like to extend an invitation to your hunting party, no matter how small or large, and we will do our best to make your trip as memorable as any you have ever been on.
A Guided Bear hunt over bait is $1800 per week which includes lodging for six nights, three meals a day, tree stands on active baits, transportation to and from bait sites, skinning and hide preparation and other necessary guide services for a complete bear hunt. For the non-hunters in your group, a rate of $600 per week for six nights lodging and three meals per day.
This hunt is a once in a lifetime opportunity for a Maine moose, the best moose hunt in the world. A Maine trophy bull moose can be as large as 1000 pounds dressed weight with a rack spread of between 50 and 60 inches. Maine moose hunting season is in September and October, and is licensed on a lottery basis.

A beautifully rustic campground. The beds in the cabins are more comfortable than we expected for the rustic setting. The chickens are a blessing for lowering the tick population. We had dogs in our party that were on high alert with them around. Can't wait to go back again soon!

One of the most beautiful places in Maine. Great fishing too, though it is fly fish only. The cabins are wonderful and affordable and the view is incredible.
