When you are relaxed deeply your mind functions more clearly which allows the subconscious to accept suggestions. In order for hypnosis to be successful the client must want change. You are ALWAYS in complete control; if you don't like a suggestion your subconscious mind will reject it. No one can make you do anything against your will.
To simplify: The mind has two parts, the conscious mind and the subconscious mind. The conscious mind analyzes, rationalizes, it is where will power lies, there is a working memory and it can only do one thing at a time. It is the part of our mind that chatters to us all day long. It can rationalize any behaviors good or bad and it can solve problems.

No! During the Hypnosis interview (pre-talk), you will tell the hypnotist what changes you want to make; then those suggestions are given to you during hypnosis. If you don't understand or like a suggestion that was given to you then your subconscious will reject it. You can't get stuck in hypnosis; you are completely aware of your surroundings at all times.
Hypnosis portion of session is recorded so that you can take them home to listen while you sleep. This drives positive suggestion deeper into your subconscious mind for quick, best results! Number of sessions is different for everyone and is determined by the client. No two people or problems are alike and therefore it is based on individual client's need.
