As we get older, cataracts become a problem experienced by a great number of people just like you. Cataracts are a common cause of vision problems among people in their 50's and 60's and they are actually a major cause of senior eye problems and vision loss. More than 20 million Americans age 40 and older have cataracts and more than half of all Americans develop cataracts by age 80.
At Alabama Eye & Cataract Center, P.C. our eye surgeons provide examinations and consultations for patients who have undergone previous cataract & lens implant surgery elsewhere and suffer from complications of the surgery resulting in vision dissatisfaction. Sometimes this occurs when patients have had previous Radial Keratotomy (RK), LASIK, multifocal or toric lens implants with poor visual outcomes or other refractive procedures.
At Alabama Eye & Cataract Center, P.C. our ophthalmologists and eye surgeons provide examination, diagnosis and treatment of glaucoma. Glaucoma is an eye problem that can damage the optic nerve and cause loss of vision. Most serious eye problems typically produce some symptoms that make patients uncomfortable or disturb their vision.

Friendly and knowledgable staff. Dr. Michaelson has been around forever, and obviously knows his stuff. However, I have never been in-and-out of their office in less than two hours. And the majority (90%) of that is waiting. If you have a busy schedule and work, I do not suggest going there for a routine eye exam. The location is aweful and the waiting room is in the middle of a corridor. Very bleak. Another pet peeve of mine, is everytime I have been there, either Dr. Michaelson or his other doctor(s) take cell phone calls during their consultation. And its always been from a spam/robo call. Very

I have been a patient of Dr. Marc Michelson since 10/2003. He performed LASIK and has been my eye doctor ever since. Having worn glasses since I was 6 years old, my eye health has always been a challenge. When I couldn’t wear contacts anymore, LASIK was the best option to live without glasses. Even with the challenges of treatment for recurrent corneal abrasions, I’m so glad I chose Dr. Michelson and his team to care for me. Now I’m wearing readers and am so thankful to have such a knowledgeable and caring team responsible for my eye health.

I highly recommend Dr. Marc Michelson and his staff at Alabama Eye & Cataract Center. After having cataract surgery and receiving standard lenses nearly two years ago, my corrected vision was 20/20, and I was overjoyed with the success of this procedure. Even now, almost two years later, my vision is still 20/20 without glasses or contacts. I never expected to be able to see so clearly, and am grateful for Dr. Michelson's expertise. Because of the exceptional care I received at Alabama Eye & Cataract Center, I am enjoying significantly improved vision that enriches the quality of my daily life

These folks are the best! Dr. Marc is tops in his field and has surrounded himself with this first class support team. I am especially appreciative of Terri who was most responsive and helpful as I muddled through the recovery. You only have one pair of eyes, I would only trust this team to treat them!

My eyesight is better than its ever been! The personableness of Dr. Michelson and his staff is off the chart. To see the staff being treated as colleagues and the doctor conferring with them shows someone who is not about ego but the patients best interest, even interjecting humor gave my experience there a ten!!!
Thank you Dr. Michelson and staff you are the best of the best!
