8 Interesting Gold Rush Facts The Gold Rush began after James Wilson Marshall, a carpenter and sawmill operator, found gold in the American River of California in 1848. Sadly, Marshall never made a profit from his discovery, and as a result of his breakthrough, the sawmill eventually closed after all of the workers spent their time searching for gold.

Stayed 3 nights in October 2021. Can’t say enough good things about the staff and facilities. We had an RV battery issue the first day - the maintenance staff were there immediately with a commercial battery charger to try to bring back the batteries. We ended up having to replace them but the staff bent over backwards to help us. Facilities were clean and well maintained. Staff were friendly and well informed about the area. I had read reviews complaining about noise but my experience was that this was one of the quietest parks we have stayed in. I’d stay again without hesitation.

The customer service and staff are incredible. We were traveling from Yosemite heading to San fransico, when our vehicle caught fire. I called and spoke with Sheri who immediately told me they could make room for us. I shortly called her back as we could not find a tow truck to tow our 40' fifth wheel. She told me that she thought she could help me out and quickly found a guest who agreed to drive the 20 miles to pick us up and tow in our 5th wheel. They also have a hospitality house that is staffed to help you make the most of your stay. In a day and age when some places are lacking in customer

It's a nice small quaint park. Probably not a lot of spaces for super large rigs because it's not a huge park. But it was a nice park, people there were super friendly and hookups worked. Area was clean and it's in a cute part of Columbia just up the road from old town. I will definitely be going back.

IThis place isn't what the website suggests. It's pretty rundown. It's not quaint " gold rush" worn, it's just run down. My husband daughter and myself stayed for 8 days. There was no water parkwide on first day. Three of the days there was no hot water at the showers. The wifi signal was very poor. However, the worst were the ANTS!! They were everywhere. Ants in the laundry room, bathrooms, showers and worst of all in OUR RV! As far as the people working there. Well let's just say the jury is still deliberating on that ruling. Was rushed to check out when I wanted to pay for another night. They

My husband and I were stranded trying to travel to another RV park and had been having an extremely rough and disappointing day. We weren't able to conquer the roads to the other RV park and had a ton of other complications turning a 3 hour drive into an i hour drive. I called this place after hours out of desperation to see if there was any hope of sleeping somewhere comfortable for the night. To my surprise one of the owners answered. She wasn't currently at the park but said she was sure she could find a place for me. She drove to the park to meet me (after hours!!!), got us a wonderful spot

Just got back from going camping with my family and we had a great time at this campground. Very clean campsites with nice tables. Very clean showers, bathrooms, and laundry room. Also the cute little country store was well stock and very reasonably priced. We have already booked our next visit and look forward to regularly staying here in the future.

We came up during a winter storm. You would think we were stuck in our RV, not the case. Played ping pong in the covered Barn, enjoyed the free, yep free hot dog night. The staff was incredible and so friendly. Stopped at the coffee hut for some free (donation) coffee. It was delicious. Side note, the fall working was grinding up fresh beans! First class all the way. The hospitality gal helped us plan a day if indoor sites to see. Can't wait to come back when the weather is better but even if it's not wellwbe back for sure! Pet friendly, full hookups.
Highly recommend.
