Cooper Floors was founded in 1948 by Virgil Cooper, affectionately referred to as "Coop" by his friends and family. Within a few years, Coop built his small business to become a bustling hardwood specialty company. Many of the hardwood floors around Orange County that were installed by Cooper Floors are now maintained with historical value.
A young friend of the family, Blake Orgill, caught Mr. Cooper's eye when, just out of high school and newly married, he showed an energetic work ethic. Blake apprenticed under Coop for several years to learn the hardwood-flooring trade. Eventually, he purchased Cooper Floors in 1983, offering Coop a chance to retire.

We specialize in sanding, staining and refinishing hardwood flooring. We sand the floors down to the natural bare wood and let you choose your custom stain color, then top coat with several layers of polyurethane. A popular trend in hardwood flooring is to hand scrape and distress the wood. This gives the wood and older, worn and weathered appearance and is used frequently in older homes or farm style homes.
Yes, we have a showroom but we believe it is best if we bring samples to your home. You can take a look at them your lighting and be held next to your furniture and cabinetry. If you would prefer to visit our showroom give us a call and we will be happy to set an appointment to meet with you. I have a black stain in my floor from a plant that I over watered, will this sand off or do I have to replace the floor?

We just had beautiful Cooper Flooring installed in our home. We couldn't be happier! The precision cutting the workman did was amazing! The flooring fit perfectly into corners and around the fireplace without any gaps. They cleaned and oiled the floor on their hands and knees. They showed up when they said they were going to. The workers were true craftsmen! I would highly recommend Cooper Flooring!
