Services
Dexter Wellness Center supports the health and fitness needs of the community by providing a high-quality facility, professional staff, and programs in a unique, supportive environment. We truly have everything you need in one place. Medical fitness centers utilize exercise as the method to promote health benefits and support preventative care while traditional gyms focus on physical fitness and popular exercise techniques.
The health and well-being of our members are our number one priorities. In order to better serve you, we have implemented a real-time center occupancy tracker, so that you know how full the facility is prior to your visit. The below graphics show our current facility occupancy in a percentage, and the bar graph shows our average occupancy by days of the week and time frame.

Wipes, towels, and sanitizing spray conveniently located throughout the center to clean the equipment after use. The Center also offers a Virtual Group Exercise membership along with virtual group exercise classes that you can take from the comfort of your home. Registration is required for virtual group exercise classes.

FitFunds are earned during qualifying promotions and events throughout the year at the center. The staff walk around every 15 minutes checking everyone like they are guards I stead of fitness trainers. The HIPPA law is being violated because everyone MUST SHOW A VACCINATION CARD & WEAR A BLUE BAND. You must prove you are vaccinated otherwise the guards will stand in front of you, point at you, & yell at you to put your mask on. If the masks dips below your nose they will come & point at you, very alarming & upsetting.

Every stay at home mom in the area NEEDS to join this gym. The childcare center has tons for them to do, including free time in the gymnasium. There are a variety of fitness classes, a warm pool with family swim times, really clean locker rooms, and plenty of parking. It’s pricey but totally worth it.

Amazing, beautiful and clean...but expensive. If you go regularly enough to utilize everything, it's worth it. Staff is super nice and helpful. I've rarely had a problem finding a space to stretch, a treadmill to run on, or lap lane to swim in. I go about 3x a week, HOWEVER I have a super flexible schedule so I can go whenever I want and can usually avoid the big crowd around 4-5pm. My workouts are usually more running and calisthenically focused, so I don't utilize much more than the treadmills, track, studios, and pool.

Great place to work out. Love their Yogi's. Management seems to be seeking to be relevant to customers through class offerings, website, workout tracking, etc. You can get a massage here. Nice sauna in the women's locker room. Love that they stock extra socks to buy if you forget yours. Love the staff. Love the locker room.

I love this place. Whatever your level of fitness and whatever your goals, you will find it here. The trainers and staff are great. A wide variety of classes are offered. There are both a hot pool and cooler lap pool. The workout area offers free weights, machines, cables, and lots of equipment for functional training. There is also a gym for basketball and pickleball. My only reason for withholding one star: there is a steam room but no hot tub. I would give 5 stars otherwise. Note: membership here also gets you access to other sister facilities in the area, and Chelsea does have a hot tub, steam

Excellent facility for working out, swimming, and many other activities. The gym has nice, well-maintained equipment, fitness staff is available to offer advice and answer questions, and everything is kept very clean. The pools are warm and great for lap-swimming and other exercises. Locker rooms are very nice, offering combination lockers, showers, and towel service. They also have child care service, which our kids love - the staff are friendly and fun, and they have great activities for the kids.

I went in with my sister to possibly join yesterday (we are both in our 60s) and the young man at the counter was very sweet giving me a free pass for the day.
I was with my sister who already had a free month pass from a physical therapist, but Kurt the old guy who took us on a tour for an hour quickly and sternly retracted my day pass stating there are no longer free passes and berated the young man in front of us. I felt awful!!
I'd like to join but not if such hateful people work there! I'm so sorry for the young man at the desk, I hope he finds a better job... and I'm thinking

Great family friendly place! My boys love coming to the wellness center! The staff members are always nice & helpful with what ever your needs... I use the gym typical 5-6. Days a week. I been coming to the Dexter wellness center for 6 years & was previously a member of the Chelsea Center for 2 years. I have met so many great people from younger to older. They have a lot of classes to offer & are great for all levels. They have a great selection of weight training equipment & continuously keep bringing in new equipment for an experience weight lifter. Not a family friendly establishment and management doesn't value long term customers. If you have children you can't afford this place. Childcare will effectively DOUBLE your membership. But since it is effectively the only gym in Dexter that offers childcare they can hike up their prices to ludicrous amounts. For my 4 kids it cost $120/month just in childcare added to the single adult membership of $70! That's a grand total of almost $200/month. Management runs monthly specials that bring the prices down to a reasonable rate that working families might be able to afford only to
