If you have been referred for a diagnostic audiologic evaluation, it means that your hearing needs to be further examined. The evaluation is done to determine if a hearing loss is present and, if so, to detail the type and severity of the hearing loss. It also may provide insight into the cause of the hearing loss as well as provide guidance for the audiologist in making appropriate treatment recommendations or referrals to other professionals.
Cerumen, also known as earwax, is naturally produced by the glands in the ears to lubricate the ear canals and keep dust and debris from getting too far down in the ear canal. Cerumen typically clears itself from the ears, but in some instances can accumulate and cause a blockage. If a blockage occurs, it may need to be removed.

This is a wonderful caring group of extremely well qualified doctor's. I, because of the time difference, arrived quite early for my appointment. Not only did the receptionist invite me to sit in the office, but she also offered a much needed cup of water. My visit with the specialist went quickly and everything was explained to me where I completely understood what my test results indicated. I got in early and actually left before my scheduled appointment time.
I received a very nice cover letter and my test results a couple of days later. I'm going to go back for another necessary test assessment
