Services
The Mechanical Contractors Association of Iowa was founded in 1965 by 10 contractors for the primary purpose of collective bargaining. First called the Major Mechanical Contractors of Iowa, the members changed the name in 1967 to the Mechanical Contractors Association of Iowa and affiliation with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America soon followed.
The MCAI is dedicated to providing valuable services and resources to members and industry fund contributors. First organized for the sole purpose of collective bargaining, the Board of Directors developed a long-term strategy to gradually expand services to meet the needs of members. A brief summary of each category of service is listed below.
The MCAI staff is committed to meeting the needs of all members and we consider ourselves an extension of your management team. In addition to the MCAI staff, members also have access to the expertise of several industry experts through their affiliation with the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.
MCAI is a member-driven organization. All services and programs are based upon member suggestions and needs. The committees listed below and their participants are a primary source of ideas and oversight for association services. All members are encouraged and welcome to participate on committees. Since 1975, the Mechanical Service Contractors of America (MSCA) has been the leading trade association for companies that provide heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration (HVACR) maintenance services to industrial, institutional and commercial facilities.The National Certified Pipe Welding Bureau (NCPWB) is a subsidiary of the Mechanical Contractors Association of America.
