Jorge is a great architect. He guided us in the design process which involved all of us: architect, builder, and clients. He helped us plan each room in our home. We designed it "from the inside out" in terms of what rooms we wanted and how we would feel in each one. The result was a spectacular home, beautiful and efficient, in which we have lived happily for many years.
When we decided to remodel our home on Waverly Avenue in La Jolla we interviewed three Architects. The first said to leave the job to him, he would scrape the house to the ground and rebuild it, we wouldn't have to do a thing! The second Architect said he would do whatever we wanted just tell him what to do! Well so far we weren't doing too well!
When we decided to give the Scripps Ranch Village Center it's most dramatic facelift of the past 30 years, we elected to bring Jorge Engel and Associates into the project for their award winning design capabilities and expertise.
Over a period of 2 years, from the preliminary discussions concept meetings, to the general contractor interview process and through the final walk inspections, Jorge and his staff were there to provide their professional expertise throughout the project.Whatever was needed, Jorge was there to take care of it.

I had the great pleasure of consulting with Jorge Engel about integrating a new solar installation with modified roof lines at our home in Alpine. Jorge is an expert architect, artist and project psychiatrist. His ability to share the vision of the finished project before a tool has been turned and his skill in directing all phases of the work are priceless. Jorge is a genuine gentleman and if you think you cannot afford to hire an architect, Jorge will quickly dispel that concern. I cannot recommend Jorge strongly enough.

His vision, expertise, finesse and attention to detail are what separate him from many in his field. He has a genuine capacity to truly listen to the client and to transcribe an idea into a vision. I started working with Jorge about four months ago feeling very beside myself with my home. I bought in a wonderful location but, probably one of the worst homes on the block. I can not begin to explain the hope he restored in my purchase. I am however, working with a budget so he has designed my home to be able to remodel in stages. That way I can start to have some enjoyment in the place I one day will call my dream home. Jorge truly has his clients best interest at heart and listens to all aspects of the situation.
