Brick Oven Pizzeria & Pub
We are Dan Loftus and Brian Schneider. We have co-owned and operated the Brick Oven Pizzeria since 2002. For the first five years, we operated out of the historic Grubstake building. With the help of family, friends, and two investors (now friends), we built the new Brick Oven Pizzeria & Pub. We wanted to preserve the deck as a place for the community to gather and celebrate a days' adventure.

More often than we would like, the community has convened at the Brick and raised a glass in memory of a friend who has gone before his time. We wanted visitors to feel welcome bellying up to the bar with locals and get the inside scoop on the good hiking, skiing, biking, boating, rock climbing and fishing.

In downtown, beer-lovers should earmark a night to explore the expansive menu of on-tap beers at Brick Oven Pizzeria and Pub, located on Elk. The place boasts a 30-tab beer network engineered by Thirsty Aid Beer Systems. The offerings cover the gamut-stouts, porters, IPAs, along with rotating taps that include hard-to-find sours, and a few lines dedicated to craft legends like Melvin and Crooked Stave.
With fossil fuels quickly depleting, it is crucial for all to live more sustainably, waste less, and recycle more. When we built the new Brick Oven Pizzeria our vision was to consciously design a site that was energy efficient. At the same time we wanted the Brick Oven to be an exciting place to gather and to cultivate community while enjoying food and spirits in an attractive mountain atmosphere.

Took my son skiing for a weekend and came here to eat and ended up at the bar watching football all evening. The pizza was great, the calzone was great (and huge). Tons of choices for beer and the bartenders were great. The place does get rather busy, at least during the weekend. I'd go back for sure if I were in Crested Butte again.

My wife and I came here for our first dinner in Crested Butte and had a good time. The Abe Froman pizza was awesome, the patio was very dog-friendly, and our waitress was a sweetheart. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for a great pizza and a good hangout spot!

Greeted quickly. Waitress was good. She forgot to bring us water and check if we needed things but she had to many tables. Toppings on our “Abe” pizza was great but the crust was soggy! Disappointed but we loved loved the salad bar!!!!!

Faith was our waitress and she was great. The mega sticks she recommended as a App were awesome. We ordered a pepperoni and a Texas star pizza and both were really good. We will be back next time in CB.

It was our first time here, very nice bar, lots of room outdoors also, we had the meat lovers pizza and it was terrific. The service was excellent, great place for beer and pizza.

Service was great and beer was cold…I ordered the cowboy burger and fries. Burger was excellent and fries were average. My advice would be to spice them up a bit. I also had a couple of pints, a pale ale out of Denver and a mountain brew out of boulder, which were great. All total the bill was $32 before tip.

We had our rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the Brick oven, and to say it was a hit and perfect was an understatement. The food was (and always id) incredible, the staff were some of the nicest staff I've ever interacted with and my family had a wonderful time. I come here every time I visit Crested Butte, and so should you. Thanks Brick Oven!

We spent 4 days in Crested Butte and this was our favorite place to eat. We actually ended up there twice one day! The service was fantastic, one of our visits after dark had a surprise cold and heavy wind. They suggested we could go inside even though they were incredibly busy. They made space for us and were so helpful and happy, which was to us a crazy experience with everyone being short staffed post covid, it's hard to get this kind of positive service anywhere.
Great pizza and drinks as well, definitely stop here if you're in town, you won't be disappointed!

Great atmosphere & food! Megastix breadstix is fantastic - chicken artichoke mozzarella cheddar pesto😋! Huge patio for people-watching, and nice dining room/bar area with a couple big screens for sports. We sat at the bar and great service with friendly bartenders despite being verrry busy!

Stopped here because they had a nice outdoor patio. The quality of the pizza was mediocre, the service was just OK. I definitely would not recommend.

Shared a pizza here for lunch after not having much success getting in quickly elsewhere. For me, this place is maybe a 3.5, but I really liked our server and half stars aren't possible, so I'll go for a 4. :)
This place has an expansive patio with lots of seating and an outdoor covered bar. We sat ourselves and our server came right up to us. He didn't have a name tag on but he was a younger fellow with curly light brown hair and glasses. He got our drinks out and our order in quickly.
The umbrella kept us cool enough while we waited for the medium pizza the four of us would share. Our waiter

Zero stars after waiting 30+ min and other customers had received service. A waiter named Joe finally walks by and I stopped and asked why we have been waiting so long and he said we got lost between servers,… I expressed my frustration with not being served and he thought it necessary to remind me he had other tables to serve,If I was unhappy with the service. And stated there were other customers to be waited on so I asked if I was just a number and if it would be better to find service at a different restaurant, he then apologized. I have worked in customer service all my life and would

Great place for low key Italian and a stellar selection of beer. The salad bar is now open and there’s a wide variety of toppings and fresh greens. We had the spicy bruschetta breadsticks to go with the salad bar. Very good!

My boyfriend and I were looking to get lunch in town before heading out on hike. We ended up eating at Brick Oven and were not disappointed. We were able to get a half and half pizza of two of their specialty pizzas. It was delicious. It was great to be able to try specialty pizzas without having to get two separate pizzas that we wouldn't have been able to finish.

Very expensive which is expected for a mountain town but the $18 Supreme pizza was rather tasteless and a little soggy. The $18 wings were a good size but over fried. Stop in for a beer but skip the food

Last night in town and kid was hungry for pizza. We went early around 5 pm and were seated immediately but the place was already beginning to fill up. They followed the COVID protocols and in order to fill the back to back booths, there were large plexiglass dividers between each set of booths which was nice. There's a patio area in the front which would be a really nice place to sit during the warmer months. We ordered the original breadsticks which were brushed with olive oil and herbs came with marinara sauce. They were really good and not too filling. Not typical prepackaged breadsticks

Great unique experience in Crested Butte for pizza and beer. Their tap and bottle selections are varied and will meet every taste and type. I would definitely eat here again and recommend it to everyone stopping by the town on the way down from the slopes!

I spent $65 (including a $10 tip) on a cold calzone, a cold pizza, and two cold cups of chili that arrived 2 hours and 7 minutes after i received the email confirmation of my order. I had to wake my children up for them to tell me that they didn't like dinner and preferred to eat left overs from the day before. These products are priced as premium products but felt like microwave pizza (without a microwave).

Terrific ambiance, delicious sweet potato waffle fries, and apparently amazing onion rings (but nobody saved me one :( ). I think the mark of a great pub is exceptional nachos. I ordered them and, alas, found them pretty underwhelming. At least they came with guac.

The menu looked to offer a great selection though, and based on the burger orders and subsequent delight of the rest of my party, I would've liked to try more. But we only dipped in for an afternoon, post-skiing snack.

I enjoyed my beer tremendously. Interestingly, they also carried La Cumbre's stout, but I had the Left

Brick Oven Pizzeria sits smack dab in the middle of Elk Ave. in Downtown Crested Butte. As one of the few casual options open late on Friday night, we decided to eat here after a long day of hiking and road-tripping.

Even though it was cool out, we were told indoor seating wasn't an option. Fine, we'll manage. One suggestion would be install more lighting on the deck, because the three of us had to whip our phones out and turn on the flashlight since we couldn't read the menu. Other than these two things, we had a great experience.

Our great experience chalked up to our wonderful

I cannot begin to Say enough good things about the staff at brick oven pizza for how they handled my mistake - I ordered using online app and when I got to the store to pay it was discovered that when I ordered what I thought was medium pizza was actually calzone, The staff never blinked and immediately corrected my order at no additional cost and even threw in a beverage while I waited - trust me I surely did not leave a big enough tip for the work the staff went to correct my mistake and will definitely will be coming back and telling everyone I know about the great service

Thanks again

Yes and no. Had a great experience before but I’ve been on hold for 15 min now waiting to place an order. Missed an opportunity for business unfortunately. Also the online menu isn’t updated/complete which makes online ordering inconvenient.

I don't typically write bad reviews, especially not in Crested Butte. But, my husband and I dined here recently on vacation and I feel compelled to share our experience. We walked up to the outside hostess stand. I stood there and waited over 10 minutes to be greeted while 3-4 servers (at least two females and one male) walked back and forth tending to their tables and to the bar without acknowledging me, waving, smiling, etc. Just a "Hi we'll be right with you" would have been nice instead of being completely ignored. Keep in mind there were only 3 parties on the patio at that

After a longish travel day, we arrived in town mid-afternoon in need of adult beverages so we stopped at Brick Oven choosing a curbside table. I went to the outside bar and tried to get the attention of the bartender who was engaged in conversation with a few customers. When she finally noticed me standing there, I asked for suggestions for a few light beers on draft. She suggested Elevation Beer Co's 8 Second Kolsch and Ska's Mexican Lager. Of the two, the 8 Second Kolsch received the nod.
Prices were reasonable.

Pizza was good but nothing all that special. Salad bar looked good, one in our party used it, seemed a little pricey for such a diminutive plate. She seemed to enjoy it, however.
I was a little surprised in that their outside area was not very dog-friendly. Basically dogs were allowed only at the tables that were on the perimeter against the iron fence. Unfortunately there are no large tables there. I ended up running home with the dogs and returning, but at lest someone had ordered some pizza for me.
