My husband and I dropped by HLF this evening and had an amazing experience here. A sales rep, Sean H, spent over an hour with us explaining the ins and outs of all things with gas fireplaces. I learned SO much! We have been to multiple other gas fireplace showrooms and this was by far the best place we’ve been. Sean was very friendly and professional. Also, he was very honest with the pros and cons of each type of unit (which I appreciated since I don’t feel like I had the same upfront honesty from other places). I paid $11,000 for two fireplaces. Fairfax County Inspection Dept failed one of the two fireplaces. Its four months later now and the company still has not completed installation of that fireplace. It looks terrible. Check out BBB.org for other complaints about them. I wish I had checked BBB before hiring them. I would never use them again. Totally dishonest company and poor quality work

Home Living replaced my patio, which used to be pavers and sand, with natural stone on a concrete base. The results were amazing. Before and after pictures are posted. Plus the crew was very nice, professional, and easy to work with, and when they were done, they cleaned up everything. I would definitely recommend them for their masonry work.

I visited the showroom in Chantilly and was greeted by Peter who walked me around the building to show me what they had to offer. Not only was I impressed by the outside living displays ... but I was extremely impressed with Jon who was able to show me a 3D diagram of my backyard and how the new project would look after completed. For three units, one being an outdoor firepit and one being a wall mount gas unit plus our living room unvented system, we were charged a whopping $628. This was their rate for a service call! The firepit did not require service, just instruction on how to turn on properly (no break given for novice users, thanks a lot!), and the downstairs unit needed batteries in the remote. So you tell me, does a charge of over $600 sound justified? The main unit has a faulty valve and requires a replacement which we cannot do because the unit is too old and the part is not available. So we are out the money

We had a great experience with Home Living Fireplace. We had an unusual fireplace we inherited with the house and have wanted to change it for years but didn't know where to start. We now have a beautiful family room gas fire place that makes the room! Peter was so helpful in providing ideas and seeing the project through from the installation of the gas line to the fireplace to coming back to assure the finished product was done right. We took the original wall out and replace the whole wall and fireplace. The stone work was done beautifully! Before and after photos.

We were looking for a specific fireplace. The napoleon luxuria with an indoor outdoor kit. It's a $11000 linear fireplace. Peter said he would help us get it and install.
After weeks and weeks of waiting and calling the office about pricing and ordering, he never got back with us.
Great salesman trying to sell something they don't have. Kept saying it's in the warehouse. He's just waiting to hear back about pricing from the manufacturer. Weeks continue to go by with no response after multiple calls and emails gone ignored. He's a man with empty promises and we took

Last fall, 2018, I spend nearly $3000 of an outdoor fireplace. The fireplace was used only 3-4 times last year. This week, I had trouble with a valve and the igniter while trying to turn it on for the first time this season. The unit is still "under warranty " yet I was told a "service" call would be in excess of $300. After complaining I was told they might be able to get it down to $199.
I would caution any potential buyer to have a complete understanding of this companies "service after the sale" policy.

I saw this company at the Home Show in January 2019. I called to get them to come do a cleaning of two gas fireplaces. Vince came out and did a great job. Evidently, after 9 years owning these fireplaces, they weren't too dirty. He was professional and thorough. He actually lowered our total price on the two. You don't see or hear this too often. He didn't try to sell me things, seek a maintenance agreement or anything. I will definitely call them in the future with any issues that may arise or for another cleaning.

This company is a total ripoff. Hired them to do the annual servicing of my gas fireplace. The tech was grumpy and refused to service the outside venting of the gas fireplace. Very expensive for an incomplete service. He set up the logs differently and they looked awkward and stupid. When I started using the fireplace, one of the logs fell down and knocked off the pilot light. I called and asked them to return to fix it, and they said they couldn't come for a week, refused to take responsibility for the problem, and said the charge would be $150. They are unprofessional, unfriendly

I really don't know why there are bad reviews. The first time I used them they came to install a remote control for my gas fireplace which my cheap home builder didn't provide because it was "builders grade" and they did a great job and now I dont have to turn on a light switch everytime to turn it on and off. Today, Bryan came to do a service on my fireplace and did a great job and explained everything thoroughly. I didn't remember the companies number so I looked on the remote that they installed. I will be using them again.
