Be here for 24 years and not planning on going anywhere anytime soon.
After nearly 25 years at Cherokee I turned in my keys. I've enjoyed my time with the company. But went your wife of 30 years tells you it time to stay home. You make the plans to retire.
They told me I was always welcome to work in the summer or winter. All I had to do is call, they'd bring a truck to me.
The key to working for the company is do what your payed to do. You do your job, take care of your equipment. You make sure you load the load correctly. And deliver the load on time and correctly and don't leave a mess. Accidents

I called to discuss them moving some products for us. The lady who answered asked one question and after my brief response she hung up on me without allowing me to ask any follow up questions. I tried getting another question, but she didn't care. Certainly not a carrier I would want to service my freight.

I worked for Cherokee seasonally, dropping and hooking grapes trailers at Bronco Wine Company. 80 hours a week, excellent experience.
The road test wasn't too difficult; hook up to a set of doubles, drive around, make sure you don't kill pedestrians or maul down parked cars; don't take out the light pole, don't MISS A GEAR ON AN OVERPASS, then drive back around the block, drop your trailer.
Cherokee gives new drivers a chance to prove themselves and stay local while they do it. If you're a truck school graduate, hit them up around June before the grape crush starts. Here's a hint: you'll make
