Services
Dr. Mark Lavin's practice provides a variety of surgical services for the treatment of periodontal issues. We pride ourselves on the fact that we are very conservative in our treatment recommendations and limit surgery to the areas where it is absolutely necessary. Many times, the early stages of periodontal disease are best treated with non-surgical periodontal therapy.
Dr. Mark Lavin is originally from Vermillion, South Dakota. Inspired by his eldest brother, Marshall (an endodontist) and his twin sister, Molly (a family dentist), he attended dental school at the University of Nebraska. Dr. Mark extended his training, specializing in periodontics. Since completing his education in 2006, he has owned and operated his periodontal practice in Sioux Falls.
Are you missing teeth? As an periodontist in Sioux Falls, SD, Dr. Mark Lavin can replace them with dental implants. If you compare a dental implant to a natural tooth, you'll see striking similarities. The difference is a dental implant is made of titanium - the same durable material surgeons use for artificial joints.
Please bring them with you to your first visit. While we are in network with only one dental insurance company, our patient care coordinators will submit claims on your behalf. Dental insurance companies often make annual changes to their benefit plans. With such changes, we do our best to provide you with accurate insurance coverage estimates based on information available to us the day of your initial visit.

I had my wisdom teeth removed today and it was actually a very enjoyable experience. From the moment I walked in the door, I was greeted with a smile and a hello! Dr. Mark and his assistant, Heather, felt like good friends throughout the entire process. Everything was well explained at every step, from unusual sounds to what to expect next. I really don't think it could have gone any better! Dr. Mark likes to hum and sing while working. Not only is it pleasant and soothing, but it's a nice distraction from the other sounds going on. You can tell he enjoys his work and it shows in his attention

I can't say I enjoyed my crown lengthening procedure (who would?), but Dr. Lavin and his staff kept me very comfortable and pain free. Very friendly staff, welcoming environment, and informative care consultation at the end of it all. I definitely recommend Dr. Lavin's office for any periodontal work you need done.
