Dr. Boes is a board certified, fellowship trained orthopaedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine and shoulder and knee replacement. Shoulder arthroscopy is a minimally invasive procedure that is done with special instruments through tiny incisions. Arthroscopy is a minimally invasive surgery that is done through tiny incisions and allows the doctor to treat a variety of disorders in the knee joint.
The knee joint is made up of three bones - the thigh bone (femur), the shin bone (tibia), and the kneecap (patella). Rotator cuff is the group of tendons in the shoulder joint providing support and enabling wider range of motion. The shoulder is a "ball & socket" joint. The upper part of the arm bone (humerus) forms a ball shape that sits on the side of the shoulder blade.

Services
My practice strives to provide high-quality, compassionate, and patient-centered orthopedic care in a timely and efficient manner in the Raleigh, NC area. This begins by carefully listening to patients as they describe the details of their particular ailments and understanding how these issues interfere with and limit their quality of life.
Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic is Wake County's oldest orthopaedic practice. Our roots in providing orthopaedic medicine to central and eastern North Carolina can be traced back to 1919, when our original founders, Dr. Hugh Thompson, Dr. Walter Hunt, and Dr. Thomas Dameron opened Wake County's first general surgery practice with a focus in Orthopaedics, and in 1959, these three surgeons named the practice Raleigh Orthopaedic Clinic (ROC).
The Raleigh Orthopaedic Surgery Center, which opened in the spring of 2013, brings together two premier organizations to provide patients with a new level of orthopaedic surgical excellence. We are the largest outpatient surgery center in the Triangle to specialize exclusively in orthopaedics, and our patients receive outstanding patient satisfaction, superior clinical outcomes and reduced costs.
Once you and your Doctor decide that surgery will help you, you will need to learn what to expect from the surgery and create a treatment plan for the best results afterward. Preparing mentally and physically for surgery is an important step toward a successful result. Understanding the process and your role in it will help you recover more quickly and have fewer problems.
Have someone available to take you home, you will not be able to drive for at least 24 hours. The combination of anesthesia, food, and car motion can quite often cause nausea or vomiting. After arriving home, wait until you are hungry before trying to eat. Begin with a light meal and try to avoid greasy food for the first 24 hours.

I had a short time in the waiting room as well as in the consullt room. Dr. Boes and the staff were friendly and efficient. Most importantly, the surgery seemed effective (it's only been 36 days since) with minimal pain and am now able to move my right arm within expected range. The overall care is coordinated with Physical Therapist, Rich Greco, and his excelent team.Thank you.

I couldn’t be happier! I was able to get an appointment next day for an injury to my shoulder. The whole team was so kind and quick. I didn’t wait at all. Not even for X-rays. Dr. Boes had me do a few exercises and diagnosed my injury, provided me with a cortisone shot, and even gave me a link to a video with exercises to help my shoulder. He also gave me a resistance band to use. I go back for a follow up in three weeks.

This review is long over-due but I just have to warn the good people of North Carolina about Dr. Boes.
I don't want to go into major detail but 2 years ago I had a torn miniscus and went to Dr. Boes. After a full MRI of my knee I went to his office in Lafayette, CA. Well, after waiting and waiting, I finally got to see Dr. Boes. At that point, he told me he was moving to Raleigh N.C. and wouldn't be able to handle my case. That's fine, but I had an appointment and wanted to know what to do. Well, apparently he was too busy for me and shuffled me out the office as I was asking questions

I had a plate and screws in my leg from an injury long ago. It was causing some aching over the years, but caused some serious tendon/nerve issues last week. Dr. Boes saw me right away, and was great at explaining what was going on with the tendon. He pointed exactly to where the pain was before I did. His staff was helpful in finding a surgery center that was in my insurance network, and they got me in right away. He removed all of the hardware on Friday and had me out of there in no time. I can say all kinds of great things about Dr. Boes, but I'm back on my feet today (5 days later

I went here for a second opinion for an elbow fracture to determine whether the course of treatment was appropriate and if a second surgery was needed to repair the fracture.
After waiting for nearly an hour and having to make myself visible, I finally received attention from the staff. His diagnosis was a joke and offered zero insight to what I already knew. His second opinion pretty much stated that he seen signs of healing and that another surgery wasn't likely. In all, he 'studied' my previous x-rays for less than 5 minutes before arriving to his misguided diagnosis.
